*** UPDATE -- free AAL ends COB Thursday, 9/24! ***

It appears that another T-Mobile "Line On Us" for existing customers is coming this Friday. No word on the duration of the promo. Voice lines only.

It also allegedly stacks with the prior free lines. I'll update with any cheap/free phone deals that may be available...

Look up your SOC code (pasted from prior deal thread -- can't create a Wiki for some reason):

How do I look up my SOC code?
If you want to know what your SOC code is, login using a web browser so you are looking at your account. Be sure to enable "Web Console". (FireFox --> Menu --> Web Developer --> Web Console) Pop over to the Network tab and look for an XHR request to "Subscriber".
you'll see your SOC Code in the Response section. For example, here is the relevant section:

````
{
"ratePlan": {
"name": "Simple Choice North America 10GB Family Match Promo",
"planType": "SIMPLECHOICE",
"socCode": "10SFM2LN"
}
}
````

You need to be on the "home" URL when you enable the tools. I've attached a screenshot that shows (circles) all of the areas you should be at or click to ensure you can see the SOC Code. Sorry if this is too complicated - just trying to share info.

For your plan code view in Chrome:
View>Developer>JavaScript Console. Then tap Network tab then XHR tab.
Then go to the main T-Mobile account homepage (the magenta square with white T in the upper left…or refresh it if already there).
In the Java window, single-tap Subscriber (or type it in the Filter search tab if you can't find it, then single-tap Subscriber)
Tap Response tab (if not already selected). In that long string, you will find the plan and socCode.

I posted this in the other T-Mobile thread regarding the third line on us promotion available today but wanted to tap into the expertise of everyone here.

I have 3 lines on the FRLTUL2LP plan - two paid, one free - so no go on the free line promotions, including the one starting tomorrow.
Spoke with a rep today to inquire about switching to Magenta Plus. My general idea was to switch my lines to the Magenta Plus plan today - two paid and one free - which would allow me to be eligible for future free line promotions.
I was told that I could not do that - that the third line on us promotion is only for a new line or new customers.

Two questions - Does anyone know if that is accurate?
And since I am an existing customer and do not qualify for the hookup discount, is there a way to get an insiders discount? That is really the only way my idea works without greatly increasing my monthly fees. My rate would go up about $12 a month but would be worth it to be eligible for future free line promotions.

TIA.
They can switch you over to the magenta 2 lines plus your current free line.
20% hookup requires new account. No doubt about it.
If you don't care about your number you can start a new account with T-Mobile to take advantage of these promos. Then just cancel your old account.

I have the amplified plan which I pay $160 for 4 lines. Its really magenta plus. Same benefits execpt I get 1 screen of netflix instead of the regular 2. All else seems to be the same. Anyone know of a similiar plan on the soc list I could switch to with similiar benefits/cost so I can qualify for the free line?

Use the chrome method to find your rate plan. I'm on Amplified also and my plan shows up in the list.

My rate plan is TIUNL2. I have The T-Mobile One Amplified rate plan.

Thanks for the response. Do you know if all three lines would need to be new numbers? My elderly parents have one of these lines and would not be comfortable with changing numbers.

Also, I understand that the hookup discount is for new customers but I have read about an insiders discount - kind of like a friends and family maybe? This is going back a ways so maybe I am misunderstanding. If so, then my idea definitely doesn't work without a steep increase in my monthly rate.

It's the same thing. "Insider Hookup" discount is the name. People just shorten the name one way or the other.
I would just port the old numbers out temporarily. Start the new service with new number. Then port back in the numbers. Don't know if there is a waiting period. Of course this only makes sense if there is a current pay 2 get 1 free line. Then on Friday add one more free line.

Thanks! Mine is MGAMP2 and not on the list. it seems im getting $10 of the regular price of the current magenta plus so I am up to switching plans if I can add the 3rd line free. Dont think I can switch to your amplified one. Will have to ask. It may be business specific.

I've never had an issue with T-Mobile. Left Verizon 9 years ago. My bill is about $200 month all in. I have 7 lines plus Watch plus 4G LTE on my Ipad Pro 3. I carry two phones --one work, one personal, wife, daughter, son, daughters boyfriend, and one close friend (who was paying $60 a month for single plan). Three free lines. I typically buy cheap refurb phones on Ebay till there is a good trade in deal. Was buying Samsung Galaxy S7's for a round $100. Got $300 trade in for A71 5G for daughter and $300 trade in for mine to V60 Thinq Dual Screen and $500 trade in to Note 9. Free Netflix (okay a few buck to upgrade to 4k). Tons of free stuff on Tuesdays. 4G LTE still faster than AT&T 5G in my area. Getting ready to trade Note 9 for Note 20.

So yes I'll take another free line (my plan is on the list) and I'll help another friend out and since no contract--no risk to me.

Bill is $193.94 after autopay and other credits. No equipment charges.
How do you know what phones will qualify for the trade in deals? I'm considering doing this for the next promotion or the one after.

So, Costco has BOGO via $1000 Visa Card for Galaxy S/Note series. Can we combine that with this one for the new line?
Yes... phone promo won't affect rate plan promo

There's not much time to do this, it's definitely work, costs a bit of money, and is a bit scary:
  • Port all three lines out to AT&T today. This closes your account. Since you need everything setup immediately, do this at an AT&T store. Make sure you get account # and pin since you'll need this to port out. Bring an unlocked cell phone with you since you'll need a few text confirmations for the account setup. Port to AT&T prepaid and I think you just pay $30 per line for the cheapest prepaid card load.
  • Then walk over to a T-Mobile store and open a new account today, porting those numbers back in; your third line would be free. Since you're porting in number for a new account, register your insider hookup code for 20% off. Its been mentioned that you do this ahead of time but in the past, you could do it after the fact (within 14 days?). This will cost another $30 per line ($10 for sim card, $20 for assistance fee).
  • Tomorrow you could add a 4th line free.

Does this mean if I have the 20% hookup from 2017 on my account, I can stack another 20% hook up tier 1 discount code by using the free line via port?
No, you cannot stack two 20% off codes. Tier 1 and Tier 2 are only for new accounts.

A "voice" line is a regular phone line with text and data.

This is interesting. Since I am on the East Coast I will not be able to take advantage of this scenario this time around. But I will check into it so that I have a plan in place to move on the next time the third line on us is available. If I get a hookup discount then I can do the port-out, port-in and wait it out until the next free add-a-line promotion comes around.
Thanks for the advice...
