I play on the Xbox. The single player campaign is easily one of the best games ever made. A little slow to start but once you get into it, it's incredible. Stunning graphics, 200+ hours of content, really memorable story. So many times you'll stop to admire the scenery. There's so much to do to get to 100% completion and unlock every achievement/trophy.
Online is still growing and improving. It's not nearly as bad as people say. The community is way more chill than GTA. There have been some bugs but most are worked through. It seems right now their "fix" has been to limit the number of gamers in each session so I'm not seeing many server disconnects. There are 5 roles you can progress through: naturalist (sampling animals), bounty hunting, trader (hunting & selling goods), moonshiner (selling goods), & collector (hidden stuff all over map). Plenty of ways to make money, although I'd say the majority of things to purchase are just cosmetic enhancements. There are some quality of life improvements you can purchase like camp & horse upgrades, guns/special ammo. Rumors are that they'll be adding properties to the game. It has potential. Not nearly as much online content as GTAV, but it's still enjoyable to play.
Play this game and see for yourself. The single player campaign is an absolute masterpiece.
might as well get the special edition for $1 and some change more
I don't think I've seen a good deal on it for PC yet. Hoping to try it soon, for not too much.

Worth it at this price? I've been waiting for the price to come down for a while now
For the single player story? Probably. For online? Wait until they pay you $26... Daily. It's truly THAT bad. Just last night I had 4 server crashes. The richest company in video games can't make a stable game. Pathetic.
"Special": Broken, unstable, fubared, can't go 2 hours without a server crash, riddled with bugs, updates that literally make the disc more useful as a coaster. Yeah, "special."

Thanks for the info. I'm not much into online game playing so this might be up my alley

Yeah the story mode is like an Aventador. Not perfect, but close enough to thoroughly enjoy. The online is like a busted a** Fiero. One that had the wheels stolen...by the owner.

So what's your point about passing on the special edition for a buck and some change more? inquiring minds would like to know. the content in the special edition is for the story mode. So what are you rambling about?
The Red Dead Redemption 2: Special Edition delivers a huge selection of exclusive content for Story Mode including:
• Bank Robbery Mission & Gang Hideout
• Dappled Black Thoroughbred
• Talisman and Medallion Gameplay Bonuses
• Gameplay Boosts, Cash Bonuses & Discounts
• The Nuevo Paraiso Gunslinger Outfit
