These got a little better since launch (not a high bar, I know). A lot of upscaled slop, but it scratches the nostalgia itch. Just wish they had all the original music.

I don't have one but apparently it's a big improvement on YouTube, areas in san andreas where the frames dropped during situations where there were a lot of vehicles are moving, down to maybe 14fps, on the switch 2, it stays at 30fps and doesn't drop below that. Probably capped at 30fps but the switch 2 has a gpu that is 10x more powerful than the original so things are looking pretty good.

10x more powerful than a Maxwell based igpu shouldn't be terrible to overcome. I have a switch OLED, and instead of buying a new $500 switch 2 I would rather put that money towards a handheld PC. Nintendo IPs help sell systems, but underpowered systems are usually the worst way to play cross platform games. I'm not saying I won't ever buy one. I'm just saying it is a bit expensive for what it is, and it's up to the consumer to validate those prices.

Switch 2 should be able to run this game at 4K@60FPS. If there was an upgrade, price is definitely worth it.

When has anyone ever gotten a Nintendo system because they were breaking barriers in performance? The last time Nintendo had a console that led the generation in performance was the Nintendo GameCube. You aren't paying for a pro series console, you are paying for the access to Nintendo's insane library of first-party games. If you consider a handheld PC as a better replacement to a Switch 2, then the Switch 2 isn't for you in the first place.

Wait, they don't even have the soundtrack? Like the 80's music for Vice City and gangster rap for San Andreas? I was about to cop this…

Yes they have the soundtracks. There are just a few songs removed because of licensing. You'd need to google to see which ones.
