That would be a sweet deal then. I know I added 4 new lines with TMO thru Costco in July. I summited my rebates for $100 each line that same night. Then I ordered 4 new phones from TMO online by doing a upgrade on those lines. Well anyways those lines qualified for T-mobile current promos because it was done within the 14 day remorse period.

I bought 2 iPhone SE 2020 for $200 off each, a one plus 8 for $350 off and a iPhone 11 for $700 off with eligible port in plus trading in a iPhone 8. So most people on Slickdeals told me I would not get both Promo. Anyways I just checked on rebate status yesterday and I was approved for all 4 rebates and it said mailing date was 9-17. I'm pretty stoked about this deal.

I think the phones should be unlocked. Sprint locked imei may not qualify. They want folks from other carriers to come to tmo

You can check the imei on T-Mobile byod checker
I wonder whether the phones types really matter. All they are after are phone numbers being ported from different carriers, aren't they? So I would venture a guess that actual phones (unlocked or locked to Tmobile) do not matter. Anyone else has more detailed explanation?

Good idea for IMEI checking from T-Mobile side. Thanks.

finally got my sim cards, i did not get my temp number in email. so called port-in line and gave all my sim card and phone numbers. all 4 transferred in 15min. also got conf text regarding insider hookup. but it said 'will verify eligibility' before they apply the promo. not sure what eligibility they are talking about, that i am a new customer?
You called port-in line to transfer all your numbers. What is a port-in line? I thought you are supposed to call 611 to transferred in your numbers. I would be transferring my 4 lines later today so I want to know the right customer service number to call.

I'm getting cold feet on this deal since no one in my extended family other than my father in law can do it since everyone else had a sprint account that was closed within past 3 months. I could probably get him to let me do it but he's in his mid 80s, almost 45 years older than me. If I ever have to call, it will be pretty obvious I'm not him. Going into the store of course would not be possible. And with virus concerns I wouldnt bring him to the store with me.

I also already registered the hookup code but with the same email address I used for my Sprint account. I dont know if it will work now if I sign up my FIL with a different email address.

Funny you mentioned that. I'm in my early 60s, my daughter is in her early 30s. Her first name is usually a girl's name but some males also have that first name. After I placed my order using my daughter's name, a sales rep unexpectedly called to confirm the order. She asked to talk to (my daughter's name), I said "This is he". She seemed to be taken aback for a few seconds, but went on with the call and approved the order.Big Grin

Ordered free line(sim) few days ago. Still haven't received the sim yet.
Registered the rebate today.
Ordered AT&T number for $6.6 today from ebay.
Called TM to port number over.
Hopefully will get the virtual gc in few days.

Once the gc arrived, if I wanna change the phone number is that gonna be $15?
How did you register for the rebate without knowing the port-in number?

Hi hpham_53,
I want to do this Tmobile deal, but I read from some discussion that I will not be able to do, because I was a Sprint customer, just ported out of Sprint and will be flagged when trying to register account for this deal, is this the case ? I guess you have the same situation like me, how did you do this deal? Use family members SSN?
Quite a few of us here have problems with zombie Sprint accounts. I got around it by using my daughter's name for this T-mo deal. Some people went to a store and let the agent sort it out, but you'll have to pay $30 activation fee for each line (no charge for SIM in-store). A few other members called Sprint Credit Dept to get the accounts closed. I haven't heard how successful that went.

If you want something to ponder, you can be added as an authorized user on your father-in-law's account which will allow you to make changes, add users, etc. [t-mobile.com]. Presumably this can be done with a phone call [t-mobile.com] after the account is setup.

I got it in an email once it was assigned; I can see it on my online account also.

Thanks a lot. I will try to use my son 's ssn to try, He was denied by ATT, hopefully Tmobile has better system to process.

Maybe a stupid question but... is there a way to access the newly created T-mobile account without the SIMs in your hand? I obviously do not know any of the four temporary numbers that have been assigned so.. there no way to set up an online account, correct?

Yes, best to wait if you can. They may or may not ask sim no during porting.
You can definitely wait but they do not ask for the sim card # during porting.

I'm sure you have to wait for your line is active in order to setup account online. They usually send confirmation text to phone to verify its you.
