That would be a sweet deal then. I know I added 4 new lines with TMO thru Costco in July. I summited my rebates for $100 each line that same night. Then I ordered 4 new phones from TMO online by doing a upgrade on those lines. Well anyways those lines qualified for T-mobile current promos because it was done within the 14 day remorse period.

I bought 2 iPhone SE 2020 for $200 off each, a one plus 8 for $350 off and a iPhone 11 for $700 off with eligible port in plus trading in a iPhone 8. So most people on Slickdeals told me I would not get both Promo. Anyways I just checked on rebate status yesterday and I was approved for all 4 rebates and it said mailing date was 9-17. I'm pretty stoked about this deal.

FYI, T-Mobile prorates final bill if you ask them to cancel lines immediately.

Thanks, it says Tmobile will not prorated if porting out ... bill charges thru end of cycle though or am I not understanding it correctly?

"In order to take your phone number to another service provider, your account will need to remain active. Once you transfer your phone number, you will receive a final bill with charges through the end of your bill cycle."

Yes, because hpham_53 cancelled tmobile by calling to cancel immediately instead of porting out while he ported out from ATT to h2o.

Anyone know how to get the chat support to pop up? I saw it yesterday when I was in the process of adding items to my cart. But, I don't see it today. Maybe I have to try during the day (closer to business hours)?

I don't need to port out my numbers (cost money I assume to park them?) have you tried to close it via rep over the phone and have gotten partial refund that way? Wonder if I can request to close immediately in hope of getting partial refunds (should the refund amount be significant of course, for example Day 5 into the cycle). I know port out is immediate, but wonder if cancel over the phone is the same will get me partial refunds too.
I called T-mo in June to cancel my account. That was an unpleasant experience. When I told the first rep that I wanted to close my account, I got passed to the Customer Retention Dept. The female rep was curt, and unfriendly. The call went like this:
Rep: How can I help you today?
Me: I'd like to close my account.
Rep: Are you unhappy with our service?
Me: No.
Rep: Why are you cancelling?
Me: I don't need unlimited usage and it's more than I need.
Rep: Then why did you sign up?
Me: Well, I didn't know it's more than I need until I've signed up.

After that experience, I just used H2O SIMs to port out when I wanted to close an account. The SIM only costs $1 each, no airtime needed if I just want to let the numbers die after 30 days. If a new deal comes up and I want to port out of H2O to the new carrier, I just need to pay $10 for airtime.

I'd rather forgo the partial refund than talking to a Retention Dept rep.

I find it endearing that you're so chatty and active helping out here and yet you're not comfortable interacting w/ CSRSmilie You're a closet "extrovert" in its literally sense!

Ok my SIM is stuck in UPS-USPS maze and my hunch seems that haven't left TMO yet. Been a week now.

Here are my questions-

1. I have a 1.5 yr old Tmobile SIM. Can I have them activate it to the new line?

2. Do I have to wait for SIM to port over. The facebook t-force person was ready yesterday but the system were down last night. Would this cause any reason for $250 to be denied?

Thanks.
The SIM card should have an expiration date. As long as it's not expired they can activate it for the free promo line. I activated a spare sim I had that was not expired with the free promo line without an issue last Monday and I just received the new one they shipped this past Saturday. Took over 5 business day to receive the new sim. Once activated you can either port in by yourself by going here https://promotions.t-mobile.com/?...=TMDesktop
Or go through with one of the rep.

Same. Will port out rather than talk with CSR. Good to know H2O still works without adding funds (but have heard this might have changed?)

I'm basically an introvert (don't like to go to parties, or gathering with more than 5 people, etc) but I'll "open up" when I get to know someone. I worked in mainframe IT for 35 yrs before retiring, and the last 20 yrs or so was in Tech Support where I helped the programmers and dealt with software vendors. So I'm used to interacting with people, but not with "unfriendly" reps in the Customer Retention Dept.

I ported out of AT&T last week using H2O SIMs without buying airtime. Still worked.

Just ported in 4 numbers & completed the entire process for the $250 BYOD promotion.
Here is my list of steps & hope this helps someone.

==========

1. Obtain a 20% hookup code (type 1) and register the Hookup code by using one of my porting in numbers.
https://insider.t-mobile.com/

2. Order 4 sim cards at t-mobile.com. $10 per sim (plus tax). Magenta plan. Credit check is required.
Be sure to write down the PIN you've created during the ordering process.

3. After I placed my order online, a Tmo agent called me to confirm the order. Be sure to ask the agent for free upgrade to UPS 2nd day shipping.

4. After I received my sim cards, I called Tmo Transfer Center: 877-789-3106 to request porting in my new numbers.
Be sure to have your account number and pin number from your current service provider ready. The agent also asked for my Tmo PIN which I created in step #2.
It took about 15 minutes to complete the process, and all my lines were activated within 20 minutes or so.

5. Create my T-Mobile ID at t-mobile.com.

6. Submit rebate online. Promote code 2020BYOD1
Make sure your real numbers are populated in the drop-down list. Submitted rebates for all my 4 numbers.
https://promotions.t-mobile.com

7. After 1 day, I received a text from Tmo:
"Congrats! Your request for 2020 T-Mobile Insider has been approved! Your discount will be reflected within 1 -2 billing cycles. Please look out for 2020 T-Mobile Insider on your bill that will indicate your credit each month."
nice post.

so everyone here is assuming any free lines qualify for the $250 credit right? as long as we port in? (using a totally different device is another key aspect as well - TBD)

for new customers coming in with buy 2, get 1 free line or old customers with the line on us promo, we are hoping to port a number and have the rebate stick right?

this promo started on 9/18 and saw some posts with people coming in brand new after 9/18, 2+1 lines, then line on us +1 w/ 250 x 4 rebates and other EIP promos. thats a nice haul.

its a shame we cant create 2nd accounts anymore.
