G402 is not ambidextrous and not remotely shaped like this mouse. It might be an arguably better mouse may not be an option for some, depending on their palm size and grip type.

Not a bad choice if you're a lefty and need something on the cheaper end.

I had this one. Got both left and right double-click after 2 years of using, the rubber worn out where the thumb rests.

These are almost always $19.99 and have been for a very long time.

I have two of these for two years now (about $15 on clearance at Target), they're good for both gaming and daily work, especially graphic and photo-editing tasks. My daughter prefers the Redragon M601, so yeah, it's totally personal preference.

We both game quite a lot, one of my G300S and her M601 failed to left-click around the same time. I've replaced the switches (rated 10M clicks) on both with Kaith GM (rated 60M clicks), worked fine since then. The other G300S is still working fine with original switches, but I don't game with it.

Is it good for playing Minecraft games? (p.s. - am not a gaming person inquiring for my nephew as a gift)

The mouse works well but after a trip in my backpack the button in the middle of the mouse broke. Feels cheap.

Mine releases if I try to drag and drop. A real nightmare for Fallout Shelter. Is there a mouse that isn't prone to failure under daily use? All of my Logitechs have failed similarly, but almost every mouse I've seen reviews for is just as bad when it comes to reliability. I'm using an M510 right now, but I have another G300S that I plan to start using soon. If it gives me three years I'll feel lucky enough for that.

I had that intermittent double-clicking problem in less than a year, mostly because the switch has a gap from the board, and with daily hard clicking, its solder joint on the other side got lifted from the PCB over time. You can either try reflowing the solder joints while clamping the switch down to the board, and/or replace it with the Kaith GM while you're at it.

I've yet to encounter a mouse where this (or the double-click) didn't eventually happen. It all comes down to the fact that switches are mechanical and the simply wear out over time. If you want to give it a go, you could googling "mousefix.exe" and see if that helps. I believe that software is designed for double-click issue, but who knows, maybe it'll help.
