$40 is the average sold price for either lens on eBay. That's $80 worth of lens plus $200 for the trash body. I'd rather buy a used m50 which has dual pixel autofocus, a flip out screen and a mic port.

L1N5YWT seems to be dead.

Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM Lens (White Box) for Canon EOS Rebel Series
Condition: New
$78.98 Free Shipping
191 sold

Most used (NOT refurbished) going for $55 - $60 with $10 shipping.

---

20 current bids on a used EF-S 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6, 18 hours left, at $65 plus $10 US shipping.

---

Most of the used m50's are running 2x - 3x as expensive as this deal, typically with 1 lens, with unknown number of shutter clicks, uncertainty of condition, and many with a whopping 14 day warranty.

Verdict: T7 for the win.

Edit: oops, this deal was so bad it already sold out lol.

I never said the deal was bad. I'm just saying the camera itself is trash. I don't care if it's the best selling canon camera. It's still trash in my book and I've been through my share of cameras.

Are you kidding me?? I'm an actually photographer for more than 10 years. I spend my days watching hundreds of YouTube videos about photography and related gear. This camera is a POS. It will feel like a POS in your hand. That being said, at THIS specific price point it's not a bad gift for someone just starting off with photography. For a beginner this is a great kit. For anyone else it's complete trash. Better off going with a used a6000 with kit lens which you can find for 340 on eBay.

Just me or does the L1N5YWT code no longer work?

I had my cart loaded and it was discounting, now its not.

Guess I waited too long to pull the trigger?

No, not really. It might have a little more resolution and maybe some marginally better noise handling. But you'd lose the flip out screen and a large amount of features.

As a photographer that has actually used this body I'm going to throw this out there. This is not a "trash" body as has been claimed. It's competent for the price. The image quality is good, but it lacks a lot of features that a nicer body would bring.

One of the biggest cons is that Canon gimped the flash mount so most "affordable" third party flashes aren't compatible. So you might save some cash on the body, but you're going to spend more if you want another flash.

Regarding the lenses; the 18-55mm lens is pretty decent, especially for the price. Build quality is decent. It focuses reasonably fast. It's sharp and has very little fringing/chromatic issues. The bokeh is good too. Are there better zoom lenses out there? Absolutely, but I doubt you'd find much better in this price range.

The 75-300mm lens however is another story. On the wide side it's good (for the price). However the closer you get to 300mm the worse things get. I found that somewhere between 75-200mm is the len's sweet spot. Regardless it's always soft and there's lots of fringing in high contrast situations. Sometimes the bokeh turns out great, but sometimes it goes the other way and ends up looking pretty bad.

All of that said, if you're on a budget and want to get into photography this is a great bundle (again, for the price) If you've got a better budget though look elsewhere. In the long run you'll be much happier if you get something better, and most importantly; manage to avoid the 75-300mm lens.
