For everyone who keeps questioning the warranty information:

The boxes in the warehouse have an additional packet of warranty information attached to the boxes. (At least they do here locally.)

So even though the box is printed with a 3-year warranty on it, the additional information explains the extension of the 3 year warranty to 5 years.

(And yes, if you use the Costco Visa credit card, that tacks on an additional 2 years, making it 7 years total.)

Hope this helps clarify things a bit...

Sony's pushing it as part of their "PS5 Ready" series and is actually one of the few TV's capable of gaming 4K at 120 Frames...however this tv will not do it out the box until a firmware update Sony has yet to push. It's assumed they'll do it closer to PS5 launch Source: https://www.techradar.com/news/sony-ps5-ready-tv

I mean you bought this way back in July. So you've enjoyed this TV for about 2 months while others patiently waited. Maybe just go to Costco and see if they will price adjust without all the hassles of returning. Cause you returning will just cause your TV to get sent back to Sony and they will then have to sell it as refurbished and then reship it somewhere else to sell. The carbon footprint of all this is huge.

I think you can ask but still have window to return and buy new.
A price reduction(after months) is not a valid reason to return an item. That's abusing the return policy...practically stealing.

If somebody paid $1400 for this TV and returns it after two months...what's is that TV worth now when the price is $960 for new? At best $700 if not less. So a $700 loss already. Add shipping costs and it's already the cost of a new TV. . Why would companies and other consumers bear the cost for the actions of an irresponsible individual? When did it become okay to be dishonest?

I've seen Costco price adjust after the 30-day window. Just ask nicely.

Anyone know if there Is there a compatible soundbar that actually mounts to the bottom of the tv like my Pioneer Kuro?

Too bad the 950H doesn't support HDMI 2.1. The fact that the 900H will support HDMI 2.1 / VRR is a big selling point for me. Great match for the PS5 or Series X. Just hope Sony actually releases the firmware update in a timely manner.
I think they will. They have ps5 ready stickers on em in bestbuy so it cant really be ps5 ready if it's not updated.

Also not sure if it's been mentioned, but the BB person said the Sony rep was at the atore today and told em the 65" x900h will be $999 next week there as well.

I didn't ask about the 55" price, but id assume tht would drop significantly as well.

I'm still torn between trying to get 55 or 65 Sony from Costco or just look for an open box 55-inch LG cx. I think the LG has 3 more 2.1 hdmi ports and that may be relevant. maybe there will be hdmi 2.1 splitters soon, if not already, but id bet they will be pricey

Does anyone know if this will have free shipping? I am not a member right now, so I can't see on the site. When I do sign up, does the membership type affect shipping fees if there are any? Thanks!

Sony TV quality and durability has gone down a lot over the years, but at least if they keep dropping prices like this, we can't complain too much. Are we approaching disposable 4K XBR TVs?

Would love to pull the trigger on 65 inch CX. But ~$1000 for the 65 inch 900H/X90CH with a 7 year warranty (if purchasing the Squaretrade warranty) is hard to resist. Found this video comparing the CX and 900H helpful. https://youtu.be/jh8pJ9dTaYo

I'd be pretty surprised if the TV is still in stock on 10/20.

Just went to Best Buy and they had these in the dim Magnolia Room side by side:

X950H and X900H. The X950 is the clear winner.

I have a basic recent LG 4K HDR I got as a SquareTrade warranty replacement. It does not have local dimming or high brightness. It's just a decent TV and often on sale in the $300-$400 range. The X900 would not be enough of an upgrade for me to buy. I'm sure on paper it's much better, but it does not seem that much better in person. The X-950H came home with me.
By your logic, shouldn't you have bought the Sony A8H OLED; which, is even better than the Sony X950H

I have owned this tv for 2 weeks now. Bought from costco. Horrible banding (Jail bars). The viewing angles are just simply not good. If you do not sit directly in front of tv at 90 degree angle, there is horrible color washout, gamma and black levels change, etc. Also, reflections are not handled well, so if u have a window in the room, prepare for looking in the mirror. Picture quality is awesome, but there are some serious downsides to this tv as well.

I totally agree with you about the warranty. With every aspect of that in play if you end up having a problem with the TV three or four years down the line there's a very good chance you'll either end up with your money back in some form or another or a new TV.

And thank you for the comparison video, I appreciate it. My Best buy didn't have them on the same wall so I had to walk back and forth to compare them.

Overall the CX looked really good but it still did look slightly darker than the Sony one but that could have just been the lighting and location in my store. Also they had different demos rinning. The Sony had a bright, colorful promo, whereas the LG promo seemed to focus on dark scenes.

I didn't notice banding on either of the Sony ones I looked at though but they were both sitting perfectly vertical and I've read on some other coast back-bending is more evident when the TV is tilted forward.

I'll honestly probably go with the Sony because a 65 inch TV will still probably be slightly better future-proofing than a 55 in OLED
