get one that can rotate down, over the fireplace is too high
So I bought last week at BB. It's very clunky and the back plate is WAY too short. Gives you zero wiggle room to move TV left or right to center everything. (I always mount to studs so I may have to rehang if it bothers me.) if I had to buy it again I would not. It rotates oddly too I can't get TV level.

Any advice mounting tv in an apartment unit over the fireplace? Never mounted a tv before. Worried about getting charged when I move out due to the holes.

Just patch the drywall before you leave with joint compound, and paint. If you take a sample of the wall, they'll match the paint exactly. Not difficult to do.. just takes a little time. Youtube has some good videos I'm sure

If there is wallpaper don't. Otherwise its easy to fill a few holes and and get a small amount of paint. Most paint places can match paint. At worst you'll have to repaint one wall.

Yeah, Since nowadays TVs are fairly light (75lbs and under)

There's not need to use huge thick bolts that destroy walls and repairs are hard to hide.
Just make sure to anchor it to at least wall studs and "NOT" to the dry wall.

Aren't these full motion wall mounts often clunky? What's the problem with the back plate being short?
