What a nonsense idea...you cannot apply the wifi idea to everywhere. Is someone needed to put the stuff on that scale or does the scale pick it up like a robot itself? in this case, once you are on it, you can read your own weight.. u know what I mean? why wifi?
This doesn't use wifi, it uses bluetooth. It pairs to your phone for usage with their app.

I know what you're saying. I have a wifi-enabled sous vide cooker that doesn't make much sense -- you need to be in the house to change the settings. But this will keep track of your stats over time. I suppose you can do the same with pen and paper, but I think the tracking feature can be useful.

I know. No offense. Just my thought: I cannot find a logic why to apply wifi, Bluetooth etc to somethings that you can read or do yourself in millisecond. If that thing takes me from the couch and put on it, that would be perfect 😜

But at the same price as a digital scale, why not have bluetooth to automatically track your weight?

I think you are missing the point about where WiFi is being used. It is to communicate with your phone and their app so you can track your weight over a period of time, for some people this can be useful.

I'm not an expert, but I think Wi-Fi has a longer range than BT. I have a printer that has both, and the Wi-Fi is more reliable at longer distance.

I have had this for some time now and love it. Tracks measurements easily and have never had any issues with it. Still on first set of batteries. Pretty sure this is close to what I paid from Wyze but don't remember exactly what shipping was.

I think for this item it's to track changes in your weight. Yes you could read it and remember what you were last time but having a charted graph (I think it makes a graph) is nice as well. To help make sure your on track or fluctuating.

What's the advantage of this one over the $20 RENPHO, which is also USB rechargeable?

https://www.amazon.com/RENPHO-Blu...B07NK8LBPC

I'm guessing it's that the RENPHO has the four metal contacts and the Wyze does not? I don't know if it really means anything since the contacts are where your feet should be, anyway, but maybe it means the Wyze is a little more accurate because it's less picky about where you stand?

Still, wondering if that's a good trade-off for saving $5 and getting a rechargeable battery.

How is this a good deal? The regular price is 19.99 on WYZE.com.

Seems unlikely. It's $25. It may be pretty comparable to withings cheapest scale. The electrostatic body composition doesn't really work great until you get into the pricier scales. I have a eufy one, and the body fat % seems pretty sketchy
