I wonder if they're dumping these on the open market because so few cafeterias are open. Both my workplace and my wife's have been closed since March.

not sure if it was this brand, but picked up 10 of the gray ones last time these types of trays came on slickdeals and wow, one of my best purchases ever.

we use them almost daily, esp with grilling season. just helps us make less trips carrying the spatula/turners and other accessories + the food out to the backyard. these are also great if you have cheap paper plates that don't really hold up on their own - put them on a tray!

when we entertain, everyone gets their own tray when it's meal time and it makes much less of a mess everywhere in/out of the house really.

Interesting, thanks for sharing. I was wondering what people used these for in a non-commercial setting and was kindof on the fence but pulled the trigger for practicality's sake

When I was living in the dorms at school, I would put my shoes on them because I didn't want people to step all over my shoes at the front door.

I bought a few for the same reason, carrying things out to the grill, and I was thinking of sticking watermelon slices on here after slicing, they never fit in the bowl and I can grab a tray and take it out the kids in the backyard. Juice mess avoided! Thanks!

I use them under potted plants. Watertight and the plastic won't scratch wood floors.

when i made the purchase initially, it's definitely just the SD effect lol. it was too cheap not to buy and try to see if i can find uses for. they turned out very practical. a tray for each guest to set their plates/drinks on etc. has been a lifesaver in terms of cleanup for us after entertaining.

also, instead of using separate plates/containers for things we're taking out to the grill, my fiance has started laying the raw ingredients (bacon/other meats, veggies etc.) directly on the trays. provided you sanitize the trays after...1-2 trays takes care of things instead of maybe 6-10 bowls/plates. we still serve the food on plates/disposables because we're not heathens.

but yeah, they're basically really large, oversized plates if you think about it Wink
