The promotion is on T-Mobile's site here:
https://www.t-mobile.com/content/...spect.html
QA Note: If you don't see the trade-in offer on the above page, then you may need to log into your T-mobile account to see it.

- Trade in any of the following devices:
Save $500
Apple: iPhone 11, XS Series, XR, X, 8 Series, iPhone 7 series

LG: V60 ThinQ, G8 ThinQ, G7 ThinQ, V50 ThinQ, V40 ThinQ
- Receive bill credits for $500 for the trade in device.
This promotion is 2020 Oct Samsung GS20 FE $500 with trade - offer t401 for those that want to look into the terms more themselves.
This list of trade-ins is slick as even at full retail the Pixel 3A never sold for $500 and it's been a long time since the Galaxy S7 series was valued that high.
But it gets better.
This deal should be able to be combined with the Hookup Type 3 listed in
https://slickdeals.net/f/14326784-20-off-t-mobile-voice-lines-for-the-life-of-the-account-for-new-customers-porting-from-verizon-at-t-or-one-of-their-mvnos-or-200-off-a-5g-phone-for-existing-t-mobile-customers?src=SiteSearchV2_SearchBarV2Algo1
I will note that the Hookup discount requires that you receive the phone in hand to enter the IMEI number. This discount is currently listed to expire on Sept 30 so there is some risk in chasing it on a device that you are pre-ordering on the 25th and is not supposed to be in stores until Oct 2. Even without this extra deal, $199 is a great price on the device and is how I have the deal listed in the title.
But if you can successfully combine, this is no new line needed, trade in an old phone/find an inexpensive trade in, and use the hookup to get everything back except for the cost of the taxes on the original $699 cost.

Note: I am not a T-Mobile employee and this is my first-time doing a trade-in with a Hookup code, so I am learning alongside most people here; thus, my guide may not be fully accurate. Feel free to make suggestions for corrections if you notice any mistakes or parts that lack clarity. And if you found my guide helpful, please post a response here just so I know and will continue doing these. Thank you.
I hope this helps,

Or get one free via bill credits when you add a line.
THIS STACKS WITH THE $200 HOOKUP CODE! Remember, only one Insider Hookup code per account, whether it's the 20% or the $200. See here for details on that promo. Please do not ask for hookup codes in this post.
Please note: This WILL NOT stack with the free line. The free line ends 9/24, and this phone promo begins 9/25. There is NO WAY to get this phone for free using the free line. Please don't bother support trying to do it.

Click the magenta text at the top of the page to see the offer for $500 off. Must be logged in to see the offer. To see the "free with add a line" offer, open in incognito. Please note the $500 off page currently says "when you add a line and trade in" but the adding a line part is a typo and not necessary.

The S21 is just around the corner but with them basically trying to get rid of the Note line I suspect the S21 series will be quite a bit more expensive then even the S20, which was already quite a bit more expensive then the S10 line, and so on. Samsung is going way overboard on their prices. Before long the Ultra will cost $1,750 and a S+ will cost $1,500. Not only that, if leaks are accurate, the S21 and S21+ will get plastic backs instead of glass like on S20, Samsung will not include headphones or a wall charger, the screen will go down in resolution from WQHD+ to FHD+, all with the same camera setup basically as S20. And no doubt they'll charge either as much as S20 or more.
So they cut their cost by downgrading the back to plastic, downgrade screen from WQHD to FHD, ditch included accessories and they won't suddenly charge less money for the S21. Trying harder to force people to fork over the nearly $1,500 for the Ultra I guess, making the regular S20 models "budget" models like the FE but with the same high price as flagships of years past. If this is the case then better off buying the S20 series and/or ditching Samsung for good. Too bad T-mobile reserves all their best offers for the iPhone and all but mostly ignores Android deals with the exception of the BOGO, which is a joke when all you want to do is upgrade a single device.
At least CS took care of you and gave you the $500 credit instead of telling you that you're out of luck completely.
I was connected with promo dept at
844-450-7865 and was told they will send to my email in 3-5business days. Not sure if this is true, but you can give it a try.
As of date, I have wasted over 6hrs plus total on the phone at multiple days. My worst rebate experience ever.

Keep me posted. I have not received the email yet, I will give them until Monday before I call again.
One of mine says it was shipped, but with no shipment date. The other was denied pretty much saying that they could only give 1 hookup per account even though I got 2 phones.
Anyone else that tried 2 hookups and got denied too?
BTW, they also messed up with my $500 credit and it was a pain to get it fixed.
So, sounds similar to what you heard, and I am not holding my breath that it will happen...
I traded in device last year and didn't have to do any of that, the $500 promo was attached to the line and after my trade in device was accepted the promo was automatically applied to my account. I didn't have to go online and submit an application to get a $500 rebate. The $500 credit was in the form of monthly bill credits that show up over 24 months.

At this point, I spent/wasted close to 7hrs.
