Saw this on the Newegg email today. Great price. I would probably take this over the other 2 nvme drives floating around on slickdeals right now. The Gammix and SX8200.

Meh, I went for the sabrent black label, but Amazon order processing and/or updating is SLOOOW... one would figure with all the business they do in the northeast, they would have scaled up operations on a permanent basis. For some, it's not worth the hassle of getting into the holiday crunch to save a few $ and possibly low volume selling out. The most these TLC SSD could drop by is another $40..The 4tb will make a significant price drop next year too overlapping with 2tb nvme 4 drives.

HP is not known for high quality.
From what I've seen, SX8200 is more favorably reviewed.

Much slower than the PS5. Look at the specs of the new Samsung 980 and the Xbox Series X proprietary storage cards, and then imagine a couple ticks faster.

$230 is basically last year's Black Friday price for this drive ($229.99)

Nice, thanks;
So it's basically the same performance. And opinion on HP and its reputation re-iterated in the Reddit comments.

Apparently it's a rebadged Biwin SSD. Looks like HP is doing it right (for once).
Unfortunately, judging by the Newegg reviews, HP isn't getting their CS right.

Point still stands.
If I was going by that guy's reasoning, 8200 at the same price would be a no-brainer.
ADATA takes responsibility for their own chips and has a better reputation (in the storage space).

HP SSDs are made by Multipointe. They are a channel partner to HP. They have rights to use HP's branding on their SSD.

Not that it matters (just out of curiosity), but isn't Multipointe just a consultant?
That's kind of sad. That means to get it right, HP had to outsource even their vetting process. Also means the poor CS in the Newegg reviews isn't on HP, but Multipointe.

Hopefully a sign of things to come. Improvements to their product process that might transfer over to their printers.
