Am I missing something? The. AW3418DW is 1440 120hz IPS has been on sale for less than this, and other 60hz monitors have been on sale with similar specs for almost half this price. What am I missing, how is this a deal on anything other than this model?

With this monitor, you are paying for the USB-C connection that provides both display and power delivery simultaneously. In addition, you get a built-in KVM switch on this monitor with the 2X USB 3.0 upstream ports.

The AW3418DW is an 8-bit panel. The dell is 8-bit + FRC, so supports 10-bit.
Does it make a difference?
If you do any color work; yes.
If you only play games; probably not.
Other ultrawide monitors (except LG ones) are also generally VA panels. So if you don't look at them dead on (notably from above or below the monitor), you'll likely to get a bunch of color shift. Deeper blacks are nice though.
I have the U3415 of this version and it is FABULOUS for work. The dell app which allows screen layout changes is bar none. No other manufacturer offers this capability for multi tasking

Thanks all! Your comments have helped me stop months of vacillating on which monitor to get. Before I pull the trigger on this...can anyone comment on how well/not so well this goes with a MacBook? I have a Caldigit dock but hoping I can plug directly into the monitor with one USB C cable and be done.

Have you seen Powertoys? It has a couple of modules now, fancyzones is a complex window manager, the Dell app that I know of pales in comparisson. https://github.com/microsoft/PowerToys
It's hard for me to upvote this when this model doesn't support higher refresh rates, the 3418 from Alienware has been on sale for cheaper and supports 120hz, got one right here infront of me and don't think I'll be going back to 16:9.. ever, it's the best of all worlds, super large landscape if you need it or essentially two large 1:1 screens if you need to multitask. The height of the screen is the same as a 27".

I have this monitor for almost over a month and I am still struggling to setup single keyboard for 2 devices, I have bluetooth keyboard and I cannot control both screens seamlessly.. I went through there manual they show the wired keyboard but not with Bluetooth
I am shopping for a gaming ultrawide so won't be biting on this. Just two cents on the 3418 comments.... the 3418 is a better gaming monitor and originally cost much more than this one, but those $600-$700 deals were well after it was discontinued and there hasn't been a major retailer with a good price since Q1. Personally I think those are long gone from the channel.
With that said, BF is eight weeks away so there should be some decent buys upcoming. But this ultrawide is a great biz/home monitor and more than good enough for non-gamers.

The monitor's KVM is for USB only, so unless your keyboard is paired with a USB bluetooth dongle that's plugged into the monitor, I doubt it'll automatically connect to your second PC.
I have a Logitech Unifying Receiver plugged into the monitor, and two USB 3.0 A-to-B cables connecting the monitor to my MacBook and my desktop. I went into Settings >> USB Selection to set USB 1/USB 2/USB Type-C to the correct ports and everything just works!
Another super useful feature is Settings >> Personalize >> Shortcut Key 1 and Shortcut Key 2, which I've set to my desktop and MacBook respectively. Makes it extremely easy to switch between devices

Bluetooth connection to a computer is independent from the monitor, so you would have to switch the bluetooth connection from the keyboard itself (assuming it supports that).
