It is IPS. The other guy did not understand the Term "WVA" or Wide Viewing Angle which normally means IPS for Laptops and used by other companies like HP and Asus as well. IPS name is actually trademark of LG and lot of other companies have their own version of it. Probably due to patent issues, when companies use panels from other Vendors like BOE, AU Optronics, Sharp, they use the term WVA.
How many gaming laptop deals you have seen at this price, coming with i7?
I've been checking laptop prices for the past 2 weeks; for the featues that this one has (1080, 10th gen i5, 8GB RAM, 256 SSD, dedicated GTX, backlit keyboard, Wifi 6)... it definitely is. As with any tech, it just depends how long you want to wait before the price either goes down, or you get better tech for the price.

Is this a good deal of should I wait until black Friday
Wait. I've been watching gaming laptops daily. Your 1650 will be outdated very soon and is useless for VR already. With the new GPU coming out and new CPU chips, you likely can get at least a 1660 to handle VR and for same price or less.

Thanks, makes sense, I'll probably wait for black Friday then.. it is a 1650 after all and past deals had 1660s at almost same price. I think companies will purge all their "obsolete" stuff on black Friday and I'll try to find a 2060 at least !
Isn't building a hackintosh mainly a driver issue half the time? Lenovo is Chinese, so you may have more luck with that. I like HP and Dell which are US companies but the entry level doesn't have usb c display support unless it comes with dedicated graphics. The bus drivers should be the critical driver to make a hackintosh work. Too many hoops though.
Anyone know of how the fan runs, loud or not? That's my biggest pet peeve with laptops that have dedicated graphics.
Depends on what you are doing. Most of these budget gaming laptops, when performance mode is selected and both CPU and GPU under stress, will make noise.
