Technically, an air fryer is more like an air impingement oven (Seen in professional kitchens). Air impingement "Strikes" the food directly with hot air, while a convection oven "Stirs" the air around the food. They are related, but different. (I used to manage a line of air impingement conveyor ovens - Mostly used in pizza restaurants, so I used to get asked that all the time)
I have this air fryer. I use it pretty much every day, for everything from toast to french fries to cooking Italian sausages. It's also great for reheating leftovers, or melting the cheese on a cheeseburger.
After 10 months, the fan started making a grinding noise. 2 emails with Cuisanart, and they had a free replacement on the way to me. I'd definitely recommend Cuisanart based on this experience.
I suspect the fan issue may have been due to me having greasy things too close to the fan, so from here on out, I'll cook the sausages and other things that might splatter on the lower rack slot.
The basket is stainless steel and is dishwasher safe. On the odd occasion I have created a mess on it, i just put some Dawn Power Wash on it for a few minutes. That stuff is miraculous.
The baking sheet on models that I have is nonstick and not dishwasher safe, and is prone to staining. I always line my baking sheet with foil and don't really care about its appearance.
Both the baking sheet and basket in this particular model are stainless steel and dishwasher safe.
There are several Facebook groups dedicated to this awesome tiny oven. Well worth joining if you are new to learning to cook in it.
I bought this when JC Penney had it for $90 to replace a Cuisinart TOB-260 N1 which saw better days. It's a decent oven, but small and less versatile than the 260. It does run hot, and requires pre-heating, unlike the 260 which has a quick convection mode. Once you adjust to the hot temps, it does crank out some nice toast and the air fry mode is great for bacon.
Overall, it's good for this price, but I miss the 260.

We've been using ours for about two months now. Purchased it at 199 and I thought that was a good deal. There are definitely toaster ovens with more oven space they take up less space on the counter. But nothing With this low of a dehydration temp and this good of a convection fan. I don't think I've experienced the hotter than expected temps others are reporting. But modes like the air fryer can most certainly scorch your food if you're not paying attention. In general I am a fan of toaster oven's because we cook a lot of small batches of things and it will heat up much faster than our normal oven. If that fits your lifestyle you're going to love this convection oven.

Amazon has this for the same price right now. It is $199 but there is a $40 coupon that can be applied right on the product page. No need to wait until 9/30 for Costco.
3 out of 4 knobs on my TOA-60 are broken. Hopefully this one has better knobs
That's terrible!! It would be worth your time to contact Cuisinart CS about that. In the Facebook groups I'm in for these Cuisinart ovens, their CS is excellent at replacing the units, even after the warranty is up.
Some people just get a new one shipped to them without them having to do anything, and some people have to submit a photo of the cord cut off of theirs. Seems random.

I have that exact one you linked from Amazon and I don't recommend it. 3 months after I bought it the freaking timer gets stuck so if I don't watch it it runs indefinitely. Cooks great though but I am getting rid of it and I'll get one with a digital timer.

Thanks. I ended up canceling my Amazon order. Will wait a bit and jump on this at Costco instead!
