If they didn't scale the video out of the composite jacks it would be one gem of a device. Pretty the same faults as all those other cheap boxes out there. Raspberry with premade images are super simple to get up.
I bought two from amazon and returned both. The first one I opened does not turn on. It turned out to be adefective power adapter. One youtube reviewer also had two defective units. The quality control from this brand is concening and so I decided not to keep them.
Gamestop will be more difficult to return comparing to amazon.
I ordered 2, hoping they don't mess up like the poster above said. I got in on the amazon deal. While a pi is better for a hardcore gamer, the simplicity of this device and the fact it includes two 10 ft wired controllers sold it to me. I will give this box to people who wouldn't be able to work a pi or don't need something fancy like a pi.
I upgraded to Premium shipping, which is normally $5.99, but showed up as on sale for $.99 for some reason. Add $2.32 for Ohio tax and I paid $33.28 shipped.
Edit: Premium shipping sale is $.99 for orders $25.00 and over.
Got one on Amazon years ago when they were $60. It's licensed and comes with a bunch of Capcom and Data East games. That's outside of loading ROMs on a SD and playing NES and SNES. $30 is a very good price. Again, never an issue here. Also, it's got HDMI 😏
I bought one a couple years ago - most people don't know about these but they're one of the best, if not the best, value in home mini-consoles. Has a relatively large list of included games (that are legitimately licensed) mostly focused on arcade games (like Final Fight) but also some home games (SNES Final Fight 2 & 3). The games list is here: https://media.gamestop.com/i/game...rgb(0,0,0)
Kickle cubicle? That's a game I haven't heard in some time. Damn, I loved the NES version of that game when I was 5. That & Dr. Mario were the only games my mom would even play. Had no idea it had an arcade version either. Pretty great list of included games

Very easy to mod and sideload all other roms? Do you know Which console generations this can safely emulate?

Yes, it's very easy to add to the game library. Just put what you want on an SD card and you're good to go. Plenty of premade libraries already made for this that include cover art.
It can run nes, snes, sega genesis, tgfx16, and most arcade games. There might even be more compatibility than that, but that's what I know off the top of my head.

Got this about 6 days ago with the same offer. It's worth it for the simplicity of adding an sd card create a folder and that's all you need to add roms. 2 controllers and an hdmi cable makes it a pretty good value I think.

Seems an outstanding value based on reviews, 2 included controllers, and the ease of playing ROMs (see post above).
Thanks OP!
Same question, but I have an 8bitDo with a usb cable. I'd play it wired if needed but would be stoked to play wireless.
