The Eragon books are by Christopher Pasolini, not N.K. Jemisin. And Jemisin is a woman.

I was super annoyed about this because I bought it back in July but then I looked and realized I got it for the same price then 😂 my husband loved the first book so now it's my turn to read it.

Quick note, the Eragon books are called the "Inheritance Cycle" because it's four books. The author originally intended to only make three books but suddenly decided to write another later on because he thought the story was too complicated to stop at three. I myself was confused because when I used to read them, there were only three books.

I just finished and enjoyed the Broken Earth Trilogy, so I'm really interested to read this.

What's the gist of the story? I read the GoodReads synopses and they sounded like pretty generic plots. So I'm guessing they're just bad synopses.

Reading these right now with ebooks from my local library. First book was very good. I'd say the Broken Earth Trilogy is a little better, at least at this point.

Same. Has anyone read both trilogies and can tell us if this new one is as good?

The story is very different from the Broken Earth trilogy. The plot is around a girl from the sticks being brought to the capital of the world and having to navigate royal intrigues, with the nobility being actual 'gods'.
