FWIW, I bought a nearly-identical configuration from the recent Walmart deal. It arrived with really apparent backlight bleed and a couple dead pixels. Others have reported flawless displays, so YMMV. Returned mine, might see if I have better luck with an Omen 15.

I posted that deal too. This is just $25 extra but comes with 1TB SSD instead of 512GB in Walmart Version.
How does this compare to the Legion 5 deal with AMD posted yesterday? Does the 17" in that deal also have display issues?
Did you read the comments properly about display issue? That poster probably has a faulty panel as others who purchased the same laptop, didn't reported any issues. You can receive a bad quality panel technically in any laptops.
thanks. my monitors have HDMI and displayport ports in them. so i'd have to get a Type-C to displayport cable, correct?
That's correct but you can get a Type-C to HDMI 2.0 cable as well, in case you want to use HDMI port. Are those monitors 4K and are they having HDMI 2.0 ports? If the monitors don't have HDMI 2.0 ports, being a 4K display, you must be going with DisplayPort Adapter. Otherwise they won't run at 4K at 60 Hz.
But if you are running 1920x1080 or QHD 2560x1440/1600 then you will be fine with both HDMI or display Port.
