RSIM15 Instructions
This is what worked for me:
I activated Cricket service, set up the phone under my Apple ID, and also updated to the latest iOS. All that with Cricket SIM in tray, as per usual. [Did try to power on the phone for the first time with my preferred carrier's SIM (T-mobile) just to test if the phone comes unlocked but no luck there. It's locked.
To work with your carrier of choice, try RSIM plus carrier's SIM in tray. If you get the pop-up menu, code the ICCID as per instructions. I did not get the menu and was unable to change the ICCID that way.
The workaround was to remove the carrier's SIM and inserted Cricket SIM but with RSIM still in the tray. Then go to "Settings" - "Cellular" - "SIM Applications" - "Edit ICCID" and enter the most recent ICCID number (you can find one here: https://geveystore.com/).
After coding is done, remove Cricket's SIM, insert your carrier's SIM (again, with RSIM still in the tray), and you should be able to register on the carrier's network. I think I needed an extra reboot or two and had to enter Apple ID / Password to proceed.
After the phone connects on your desired carrier, be sure to navigate to Settings - Cellular - Cellular Data Network to ensure the APN settings for your carrier are entered correctly. For T-Mobile, use info found here: https://www.t-mobile.com/support/...ple-iphone

I believe it can be done right after you activate the line and create a new online account
If you just want the phone and not use the actual service, the price is still the same since they aren't refunding you , basically the way thats the cheapest is pay the phone and the 60 dollar plan?
One of the condition to get the credit is "Activate and remain on an unlimited plan (minimum $55mo. before discount) for 3 bill cycles." so if you switch to $30 plan, you will loose the $50 credit...... Only one I guess

Point 2 and 3 are contradicting. Point 2 says remain on same plan for 3 billing cycles and point 3 says credit will come after 55 date of good standing and credit can be used for 3rd mont bill

Yeah that is what cricket says, but it would be really nice what op says is true but i doubt it will work. But there is no lost in trying thou. I just ordered iphone 8 and will try this hoping i get the $50 bonus.
