For people trying to re-activate an old Netflix account using this 6 month credit, READ THIS!
If your account is not active, you will need re-activate using an approved payment method (paypal or credit card) before attempting to apply the google provided 6 month Netflix credit. Otherwise, when re-activating, Netflix will tell you that you need a "backup payment method" and will ask for a credit card. You will still see the Google provided 6 month Netflix credit on the screen. Once you try to submit the credit card info, you'll get an error similiar to "You cannot use this payment method"
I called Netflix directly and they verified both payment methods were good on their own, but they could not allow our account to re-activate using the google credit as the primary method. We had to pay for 1 month in order for the credit to work.
