Great little drone, have gotten some real banger photos and video from this little guy.

Of course IG destroys the quality, but they were pretty decent resolution/sharpness. I will say I sold my P4P and got a Mavic Air 2 and finding the Mini is collecting a bit more dust now. No raw photos is a bit of a bummer, and the lack of video controls and some over sharpening all detract a little bit for me. Amazing drone for the price though!

I follow these closely and bought the Costco deal this summer.
The rumors of the Mini 2 have been out for months. From all I have read - there is a hope for a better camera and a battery with a slightly larger capacity., But the current one is amazing for a <250g drone with up to a 30 minute flight time.
So wait for the MM2. And then after waiting for the price to drop down to a "sale" price, you might see rumors for the MM3. And the cycle begins again.

This is a good buy.

it's cool that this comes with 3 batteries, but the limiting issue in the field is that the controller battery won't last as long as the 3 drone batteries will.

From the YouTube examples I've seen this has stunning video quality though. Not sure it's going to make that big of a difference. Once the mini 4k comes out, who would by the air? I'm just looking for cheapest bang for the buck with these after crashing one into the ocean. So the mini 2 would i would have to wait at least another year to hit this prime day deal.

I can assure you the controller battery lasts much longer than 3 batteries. Wild guess, but would say at least 4-5 flights in my experience. Could be more even, I just end up charging before it drops to the last battery bar. Also worth mentioning most flights aren't a full 30min.

Ok from the manual:
"The built-in battery has a capacity of 2600 mAh and a maximum run time of 4.5 hours when using an iOS device and 1 hour and 40 minutes when using an Android device. The remote controller charges the Android device with a charging ability of 500 mA@5V. The remote controller automatically charges Android devices."
