The cheapest unlimited plan I'd be forced to upgrade to would be at least 30ish bucks a month increase in my phone bill, which over 30 months would be more than $900 extra paid... and then I'm also STUCK paying 30ish extra a month going forward since my old plan will no longer be available.
From what I can tell the new unlimited plans suck if you've got less than like 4 people on em.
Better to pay slightly more cash up front and keep the cheap bill and have an unlocked phone on day 1 too.
Max vs regular pro is screen size, battery size, and some more advanced camera features (better telephoto lens, better stabilization, more optical zoom)
Between 12 pro and regular 12 it's no telephoto lens at all on the non-pro, and no LIDAR- also smaller storage size options (64/128/256 vs 128/256/512)
There's some more photo/video feature differences due to the missing sensors on the non-pro
Oh and pro has brighter display
Regular 12 and mini are the same other than screen and battery size
Oh there might be a difference in RAM, but Apple never publishes info on that officially.
So I can go to AT&T store and preorder the iphone 12, and then I have 30 days to send my current in for trade in?What if the iphone 12 is not available until December?
Also, I ordered through Apple and get it within a week straight from China factory base on UPS tracking history. That tells me the supply is limited within USA. BB, AT&T, Costco,etc. have very limited supplies since Apple will take care of their orders first then the secondary retailers like the ones I mentioned will get it eventually, like 4-6 weeks. You might get lucky when you order from Apple online, you can see if one is available at their retail store for pickup. I tried doing that but by the time I went through the checkout, it was gone.

Also the $700 number has been on Apple's site from day one. AT&T phone reps are not to be trusted often.
