Why go with the 64GB for Quest 2? A couple reasons:
1) I don't go on long trips away from WiFi and I can reload games I might want to re-experience.
2) Looking at the big picture, the 256gb storage doesn't seem necessary at this stage of mobile-VR software. It's not the golden age of VR yet. Maybe in a couple years. For now, the games needing many GBs storage that I enjoy are mostly available on PC-VR (i.e. Half-life: Alyx, Star Wars: Squadrons, or Project Cars 2). So my PC storage is sufficient, and the headset doesn't need that much onboard storage for the mobile/Quest-platform experiences (Beat Saber, Tilt Brush, Horizons, etc.).
- Requires a Facebook account (no exceptions, no grandfathering)
- If you use a false identity it will be banned
- If the Facebook account is banned for any reason (inc. break-ins) you'll lose all of your purchases (and access to your Quest 2)
- Support doesn't exist for the Facebook account side, meaning if you get banned you'll just get automated responses. No human will ever read your "appeals."
There are multiple people on the Quest subreddit that already have run into these exact issues, some with an entire Quest 1's worth of games. If you want to spend $400+ on this and then hundreds more on games, then make sure you understand the level of risk you're taking.I own a Quest (1) and it is freaking fantastic. I'd be their core demographic for Quest 2, but this thing is radioactive with all the Facebook account-related problems, so my Quest (1) will be my last Oculus branded device unfortunately.
