I've been scouring through all the 65" TV (value and mid tier) deals posted here today and this has the best rtings score (7.4) and brightness for a living room placement.

It has a VA panel (not IPS) and it will be used mainly for tv/movie and Switch. This feels like the best bang for buck to me.

Costco has it for $569.99 with all the extra year of warranty and 90 day return if you have a Costco membership.

What pulled me to Amazon's deal is a Citi Premier interest free option that goes out to 24 months at 0% APR, which makes this much more attractive.

Looks like there there is a pretty difference between the 2019 (F) model, and 2020 (G) model according to rtings:

I believe they only have a G in the Android version, where this is the Roku version.

I bought this at the same price before seeing this post. With that said, this was my determining factors:
1. Roku OS. I have had one for a while and it just works well and is clean.
2. Most Roku TVs are basic panels. No full array dimming or qled, etc. which depending on needs and price range, might not be worth it. E.g. Walmart has 65" Rokus starting at $378.
After debating, I wanted to have slightly higher quality.
3. That brings it down to this TV and the TCL 6 series (635 model). The 635 is the better TV (mini-led for even blacker blacks/contrast/less bleeding) but is currently full price at $899. Even if it gets better, it probably won't get close to this price.

Hope that helps someone!

The 2020 G models for the 9 series has dropped off the face of the earth. Nothing within 250 miles from Best Buy which seems to be the only major Brick and Mortar to carry it. H8G is a bit better stocked. I wish Hisense would roll the Roku series into the 2020 models as they are superior.

Is this tv good for a covered patio? (No direct sunlight falling).

I have been looking at the exact same TCL. I think this is worth the price. I assume you do not have the TV yet?

I have the TCL 75" 635. For this price, I'd get this over the 65" 635. They should look decently close as far as image quality is concerned. In fact, without local dimming, the 635's black levels are garbage

Is the TCL 6 Series (2019 or 2020) ever on sale? What's the best price you can hope to find those models at?

65" 635 was $800

The 75" 635 was $950, but sold out quickly.

The price on the 75" is absolutely unheard of and probably won't come back.

I'd personally pull the trigger on this 65" and give it a try. Super great price, and the native black level on this tv is far superior to the tcl's panel. (I'm not talking dynamic backlight, I know once turned on it helps the TCL, and it might even edge out this panel. Still rtings says the blacks on this are impressive)

I can't decide if I should pick this up. From what I've found it's essentially a h8f(last years model) with roku. If it at qled I'd but it for sure. But on the edge now. Price for 55 369 at Costco.. great deal for size

I bought both the 65H8F and the 65R8F last year and returned them both because of horrible motion issues. If you watch a lot of sports, you should look elsewhere. Checkout the 3.4 motion rating that RTINGS gives this model. I bought the TCL 65r635 on sale last month for $800 and, overall, it is way better than the model in this thread, as it should be for $200+ more. It was mentioned earlier in this thread that the TCL R635 native contrast is garbage... I disagree. I tend to agree the RTINGS native contrast test results: 5989:1 for the Hisense and 5560:1 for the TCL; not that different. My only issue with the TCL so far is some slight uniformity issues; not enough to return.

Did you did disable the smoothing and motion settings that most recommend to disable on most new TVs?
