Let's hope Costco matches and the iPhone 7 or even the 6s are eligible

Yeah, I can see T-mobile scheming now on the terms:
Add 3 lines of Magenta only, requires 36 months of bill credits, trade-in iPhone X or higher and one major organ ...

Buyer beware! Sprint/T-Mobile offers are linked to monthly credits. If you turn in your phone early before your term you lose the equity of the phone and may need to pay the outstanding credits. Finally even after paying the credits there is an additional 25% buy out fee to "own" the phone to trade it in or keep. This reduces your savings usually by 50%... with all this hassle and locking into a contractual term in the future I'll probably just buy the phone outright so I can trade it in whenever I want to, sure monthly phone plans are now contract free but flex leases on phones keep you stuck to the same carrier for 18-30 months

Sucks I had to merge accounts and the my 11 year old account was merged into my spouses 2 year one - so we won't get loyalty credit.

does anyone know if the iPhone X will provide some more trade in value later for iPhone 12 Pro Max type promotion?

Not sure if I should trade in the iPhone X right now just for the $200

so they are accepting the same iPhones and giving the same values as tmobile?
add a line required? thanks
Also forgot to mention that you can't order or do the trade in until the phone comes out after the 23rd. They are simply not doing anything with Tmobile at the momen

Right, and mine said $0 for my iphone xr. So it appears i will get $415 spread out across as bill credits, as opposed to the one time bill credit of value of iphone xr and then then the rest in bill credits. Few posts above confirms that.
Don't forget at the end of the term there is an extra buy out fee, about 25% that is on top of the price of the phone

I've done this in years past and they always give less than the $850 for whatever reason. I hate all of these monthly credits with every carrier. Its such a headache on the billing side.

how is this nay better than ATT deal?
I would think ATT deal better? You can trade any of the useless Android phone. This T-Mobile one seems to only allow iPhone for another iPhone. The plans on ATT is more expensive though. Need to weigh the differences and see what is more important to you. Price plan, service quality, etc...

Won't you get more money for the iPhone X if you just sell it?

I wasn't seeing the $200 loyalty credit, checked my billing history and it only went back to 2018. I called CS and let them know that I've on Tmobile since 2008 and they had no records of my past history. The lady said somebody may have closed it when we switched to the magenta plan in 2018 and there was nothing she could do. If your not getting the loyalty discount check your account history. This is not a deal for me without that credit.

I'm not sure if that's how it works for Sprint, but on the T-Mobile side you don't lose equity and get charged a buy-out fee for paying off your EIP and trading your phone in early.

Does that mean you'll only need to pay for 24 months of phone service to still get bill credits? 😲

I suppose.

I'm gonna payoff my obligation of the EIP in about a month or so, and have the bill credits reassigned at the account level instead of the device/line, along with getting the device unlocked.

It seems for this specific deal, the system is throwing the entire promo amount across 30-month bill credits.

For example, here's the quote I got for an iPhone 8:
https://imgur.com/a/ANZIU06

From reading the posts, I think the system is showing it both ways. When I bought my device this morning, it showed it as a total amount like it shows for you. Others are getting just the trade-in amount and they're getting confused by that.

But when I go into my account now, it still shows the "trade-in" offer which is what I will get when the device goes to Assurant. ($71 for iphone 7+). Per what's happened with previous T-Mobile deals I've done, the balance gets split over the EIP and the $71 comes as a one-time bill credit when the trade-in is approved.

I was told two different answers by two different reps, but essentially, even if the device was paid off for example, at 24 months, you would still be getting bill credits for the next 6 months after. But if you wanted to use the line receiving bill credits to take advantage of another offer and upgrade, you would forfeit the remaining bill credits. It's $20 difference to go take part in the Apple Store T-mobile offer, so I canceled my T-mobile order and bought from Apple.
