Let's hope Costco matches and the iPhone 7 or even the 6s are eligible

Yeah, I can see T-mobile scheming now on the terms:
Add 3 lines of Magenta only, requires 36 months of bill credits, trade-in iPhone X or higher and one major organ ...

I'm on a t- mobile simple choice plan that is the cheapest i can find anywhere for 5 lines. I'll still be on it for 30 months unless someone comes up with something radical. Haven't seen prices going down anywhere.

The 30 months service is s given, so not sure why i should factor it in
Like I said, if you have a cheaper phone service currently then it should be factored in.

This link was mentioned earlier in this thread - https://www.t-mobile.com/support/...al-credits [t-mobile.com]

It specifically says:

"To receive Recurring Device Credits (RDC), you must purchase your device on EIP and meet any other requirements of the promotion.
You may have one Recurring Device Credits (RDC) promo per line at a time. To get a new Recurring Device Credits (RDC) promo and keep your current credit, you must pay off the existing EIP first.
If you pay off your EIP early, you'll continue to receive the promised Recurring Device Credits (RDC) as an account-level credit through the remaining months of the promotional credit period (up to 24 or 36 months)."

The key here is "To get a new RDC promo and keep your current credit..."

So there is documentation to back up that this should work. I know in practice, it may not automatically work, but there is a specific document which says this should work.
I wouldn't spread this around unless you have personal experience doing this. I have tried this myself in the past by paying off the EIP first and then trying to apply a second recurring device credit which ended up cancelling out the first one. In the end I contacted TMobile support and told them I was never explained this would happen and had to bargain back and forth for a one time credit I felt almost matched the full amount of the first recurring device credit had it stayed on my account.

I was told one or the other.
The trade in and loyalty promos can be combined.
Just be sure to read the loyalty requirements carefully.

From the Wiki:
$200 Additional Rebate for 5+ Years T-Mobile Customers:

Starting October 16, 2020, if you're an eligible customer on an account established as of November 30, 2015 with an eligible device active on our network between August 2, 2020 - October 2, 2020, you can get $200 back (after rebate via virtual prepaid card for T-Mobile customers; via 30 monthly bill credits for Sprint customers) when you pre-order or purchase a new eligible Apple iPhone and trade in / turn-in an eligible iPhone.

I wasn't planning on leaving, but what happens if I want to upgrade to a different phone after 20 months? I can pay off this phone and purchase a new one somewhere else and still add it to the line while continuing to get the other 10 months of credit from current trade in with this offer?
Yes. See the Wiki section on Recurring Device Credits.

Yes that's true. I didn't think about that but also in my specific case a non issue.

I wonder how much of a headache it would be to cancel everything and go through Apple.
I have deal with them in the past. It would be a nonissue. But first make sure the phone you have to trade is qualified at Apple website

It's stated in my EiP agreement document ( the one you digitally sign - see attached pic ) and I'm gonna hold TMobile to it.
Wait what the. What did you trade in again and did you get a loyalty discount?

How long ago was this? I think they changed their process.
Plus now you can use their own documentation against them since it literally says how to "To get a new Recurring Device Credits (RDC) promo and keep your current credit"

I have 6 lines of Simple Choice, and when I tried to add a line with an iPhone 8 trade in, the T-Mobile website showed the monthly cost of $25 instead of $10 for the new line. Why the discrepancy? The SC plan details state $10 a month for extra lines.
I had that happen to me, a while ago.

In my case, i signed up for a "free" upgrade from my old simple choice plan from 2gb to 6gb per line, without reading the fine print. When i went to add lines later, they told me it was $20 per line.

Not saying you did that, but check the fine print every time something changes. The fact that they don't offer those plans anymore that they used to stick in customers means they try and trick you into upgrading

You could be right. This was a little over a year ago when the pixel 3a came out. I guess I am just urging people to be cautious because it's pretty much impossible to add back a recurring credit once it's removed.

I've been with TMOBILE for a couple years now.

After 10 years left att and cut my phone bill in half with more features and phone lines.

30 months isn't an issue for me.
Same I've been with them for 15+ years, let's be real I'm not going anywhere else. I'd be fine if they brought back those phone contracts form years ago.

Ok, so I'm about to do the following. I'm on a Simple Choice plan with 3 lines I want to upgrade (2 iPhone 8 plus and 1 iPhone 6s). Long time customer, over 10 years.

1. Pre-order 3 iPhone 12s
2. Trade-in 2 iPhone 8 plus (+$415 each) and 1 iPhone 6s (+$215)
3. Submit Loyalty Rebate (+$200 x 3)

Net cost will be $799x3 plus tax minus $415, $415, $215, $200, $200, $200. The trade-in will be factored in over 30 months. Is this about right?
