sorry, a typo

Gotcha. Model S has a newer battery shape than model 3. There's no technological improvement but just the shape and probably energy density is higher with the new design.

You'll lose anywhere from 5 -10% every year depending on how you use it from careful to careless. careful meaning you're not supposed to charge more than 90% unless you're going out on a road trip (think once a month). you're not supposed to deplete battery less than 10% (lot of people suggest 20%) and finally supercharging often increases battery wear and tear as well.

my 18 month old model 3 was initially rated at 325. now I get 308ish on a full charge.

no its a better battery then the model 3. it degrades less over time.
I thought model S is older model, assuming the battery is using old technologies.

I think this is probably a prelude to Tesla dropping a major update to the S.

The car hasn't been refreshed in quite awhile. Likely looking to clear out old parts.
You would think and it certainly needs an update but I'm pretty sure he said a Tesla doesn't change significantly

thanks for the explanation. I will probably buy model 3 at end of year, hoping there will be some discount by then.

Too many model 3s on the road. You're better of paying 2k extra for the Y. Probably will fetch more in resale too.

The model 3s made recently were reported to have a newer console and chrome deletions among other things.

The Y is actually going to be a higher volume seller compared to the 3. Wait 2 years and you will see more Ys.

Really? I think Model 3 is the best looking production car out there and I have a 3 (which I also think looks better than most)

Can we finance that many shares for a typical auto loan interest rate?

It is old but the model 3 battery contains cheaper/less lithium. Its good for mass production but teslas premium vehicles will always get the better battery. The model 3 on the other hand has newer battery cells but not better then what is already in the model s. The Chinese model 3 is also using a newer battery but worst then the US model 3. If the model 3 battery was truly better they would of swap them into the S by now. The S already has the rear motor of a model 3. They update their cars yearly and monthly as better things come out, so nothing is older other then the exterior design. Even the plaid model s looks like a normal model s...
