If you are not a heavy data user, say less than 3GB monthly, major savings are available. I was with Verizon and all the costs just kept adding up. Monthly fee, line fee, 911, taxes, regulatory, on and on....

Is Xfinity right for everyone, no. Is it right for savers who don't use a phone constantly for streaming, for video, for online gaming, for regular Google mapping; yes it is.

My monthly bill is between $16 and $28, just depends on data usage. Locations I had a problem with Verizon service are the same locations I have problems with Xfinity, but those are very, very few.

My Verizon bill, no matter what was around 60 per line. Don't need to pay all that money to pad someone else's pockets.

Look at your monthly data avg., to see what makes cents and dollars.

Can I port over to xfinity and not use the phone they give me? I already have an iphone xs and would rather sell the new iphone I get from the $250 off rather than use it..

Cash Back Terms
Exclusions: Cash Back is available for new lines only. Cash Back is not available on the purchase of devices and accessories.

There are some exclusions. So depends on how they treat the new line vs new device. Don't know, just saying.

Hmm, after doing more research it seems in the past for new customers Xfinity has applied the discount as monthly credits for 24 months. I don't see anything in the press release about it being an instant discount for new customers. Not sure where OP saw that at. If this is the case then it'll be a hard pass for me because I don't want to be tied to any carrier for 24 months.
I did this last year with the iPhone 11 and received a $250 gift card in the mail after the 90 day required service period. Based on the wording of this offer, it's hard to say if that is still true for new customers. You may be right since they specifically state a gift card for existing customers but "discount" for new customers

Were you an existing customer though? It looks like existing customers get the $250 gift card, but new customers who port their number over get the the $250 through monthly credits to their Xfinity account over 24 months (at least that's the way it looks from past deals I've found).

Just messaged their customer support. For new customers, the $250 will be provided as monthly credits. You must port in a number from a different carrier to qualify.

Ok, that would make the deal less attractive for those that don't intend to stay.

Yep. I did the offer for $250 Prepaid Card last year. Worked quite well. Was hoping for a similar thing this year. Looks like they caught on...

Thank you. Appreciate the info. I am not a big data user.... prob under 3 gigs a month i would think. dont play games, dont stream netflix. maybe some youtube videos and lots of email web surfing, etc. Checking in on some video camera feeds, as well.

Sounds like this can save me some good money per month, just looking at their plans. I think they throttle a bit when u use it as a hot spot, but that happens maybe once a year if need be.

thanks again for the info.
I am on the $45 unlimited plan. I came from Verizon. I have never run into issues. I stream games to the my phone on the golf course. I stream music constantly. I see no difference and we are saving close to $70/mth for two unlimited lines based on the cost when we switched. No idea what it is now.

Been a customer of T-Mobile since before they were even T-Mobile and about to kick them to the curb for never doing anything for their existing customers. If I transfer over to Xfinity and do this deal, but end up not liking the service for whatever reason, are there any requirements to stay with them for 24 months, 36 months, etc? Is this one of those discounts where it's credits to your account over a period of time?
No contract but you will have to pay off phone before you can take it with you.

How did you get the internet for $10/month? I am also a student.
It's called "internet essentials" from Comcast/Xfinity. It's only 25Mbps for $9.95. No contract.
I stream 4k movies pretty heavily on top of laptops, phones, smart speakers etc. running and it does just fine for my needs. On a tight budget as a student, you should look into it. If you arent aware, Amazon also offers students a discount on its Prime service. Save where you can! Good luck. Hope this helps.

for someone that has been a verizon subscriber for the last 20 years, and happy with their service, what are the pros and cons switching to Xfinity mobile? I understand they use the same vzw towers? So thinking speeds and reception should be the same?

Curious to know if anyone from vzw switched to here, and their thoughts.
I believe not a same. I had xfinity which used to be pretty bad with LTE and coverage. Earlier they used to have $12 minimum plan which is no more available. But if you can wait for 60 days you get around $200 discount with unlocked phone

I'm currently a Tmobile customer with 6 lines paying for $110 with tax. We dont use data much. Would we be saving money if we switch? Can this promo be stackable with BYOD $50 promo?

I chatted with customer representative and here's my understanding to be eligible for $250 master card:
  1. Phone must be purchased only via Device Payment Plan i.e. 24 months EMI and Port In from other carrier. Full payment is not eligible for promotion.
  2. Mobile phone can be unlocked after 2 months and one can terminate mobile service after 60 days but the Device Payment Plan should continue on the Xfinity account.
  3. If customer closes Xfinity account (internet service) prior to 24 months (till Device Payment Plan finishes), the customer won't get benefits of promotion. In such case, $250 will be deducted/charged at account closing time.
This deal is slick for users who are guaranteed to stick with XFinity account for 2 more years.
For everyone else hoping to get quick connection and unlock may not be able to get full advantage.
--> if anyone in NYC,NJ is planning to get the deal and is assured to stay with xfinity for 2 years, can they offer me 1 line for extra fee.
