If you are not a heavy data user, say less than 3GB monthly, major savings are available. I was with Verizon and all the costs just kept adding up. Monthly fee, line fee, 911, taxes, regulatory, on and on....

Is Xfinity right for everyone, no. Is it right for savers who don't use a phone constantly for streaming, for video, for online gaming, for regular Google mapping; yes it is.

My monthly bill is between $16 and $28, just depends on data usage. Locations I had a problem with Verizon service are the same locations I have problems with Xfinity, but those are very, very few.

My Verizon bill, no matter what was around 60 per line. Don't need to pay all that money to pad someone else's pockets.

Look at your monthly data avg., to see what makes cents and dollars.

Wouldn't it be better to sign up as a new customer with a byod and then upgrade? Otherwise you are stuck for 24 months.

for someone that has been a verizon subscriber for the last 20 years, and happy with their service, what are the pros and cons switching to Xfinity mobile? I understand they use the same vzw towers? So thinking speeds and reception should be the same?

Curious to know if anyone from vzw switched to here, and their thoughts.
i was with verizon for many years (8+) before switching to xfinity mobile ~3 years ago now. for the price it's worth every penny, BUT it is not quite as good as verizon in that you are ranked lower in busy areas. what that means perhaps a handful of times in 3 years... if i make a phone call at 5pm, when everyone else does, i get all circuits are busy or the call fails. and this may be because i live in a suburbs.
my wife experience is a little different when she worked downtown (middle of city) every time she called people at lunch and when she got off work, she said it would take 2-3 tried consistently (at least twice a week). but it would work
but in our old setup we paid over $230 a month for 4 phones to verizon
with xfinity mobile we pay under $50 a month for 3gb shared (costs 45 per line for unlimited) with 4 lines. (we all use low data and use data mostly when we are on wifi since covid...)
so for $150 savings per month i can deal with a few retries... however since working from home in march i don't think i have encountered those anymore.
before covid our bill was ~81 a month on xfinity mobile with my wife on unlimited data and the rest of us sharing 2-3 gb (at $12 each)
my advice is you can accept slightly less priority in busy times, it's worth every penny saved, i am very happy with the service.

it does look like accounts opened after may of 2020 do have a $15 charge per line which changes things a little.

I am a bit confused by their pricing, say I have 5 lines, and I use less than 1g of data combined on all my 5 lines, how much does this cost before taxes and fees? Just $15 for that shared 1gb data and all 5 lines has unlimited call/text?

The lines opened after May of 2020 or people who go and change their plans to the new ones will have the same priority on the network as Verizon's postpaid customers do. That's why they hiked the price.

Your pool is shared between the lines. They're basically waiving the $20 line access fee for each line because you have Xfinity internet so you just pay for the data bucket they all share.

This information is helpful for Verizon customer like me planning to switch over to xfinity.
Regarding the third point you made about the location and signal loss, if I have good phone signal coverage in my area with Verizon, would that be good coverage with xfinity too?
I had verizon for years always had good reception at home and work. Switched to xfinity and sometimes I can't even send an SMS from home. Granted I went from a Pixel to a Galaxy, might have been the phone. But I'm sure ymmv.

Thats correct only 15 if you don't go over the limit. Set the alert if you about to cross the 1GB and make easy switch to next tier which is 3GB for $30 for that month and again switch back to 1 GB. I do this all time without issues and save ton on stupid line fees. Last 7 months my mobile bill is $17 for 2 lines every month.

Also, what is the total cost including all fees for 1 line using less than 1gb data?
$13.67/month. I have Xfinity TV & internet. I'm grandfathered in on the old pricing plan. I think the current is $15/month + taxes.

I'm wondering if I take advantage of this offer if they will move me from $12 to $15.

This is the one thing that I don't like about Xfinity. I have an unlocked iPhone X that I bought from Apple and brought to Xfinity. Service is great and inexpensive. I travel to the EU for work several times a year (well, did until COVID hit) and you cannot use the Xfinity account in the EU. I always bought a 6 Mobile SIM to use when I am overseas for next to nothing, The problem is that I miss any calls made to my US number (and texts) since the SIM is not in the phone.

Would love to get the abililty to use Xfinity while in the EU.
Xfinity does have international coverage, its expensive but it does work.

One great thing is you can also use the service over wifi, which means that when traveling internationally and if you have wifi internet, you can make and receive calls without any charge
