If you are not a heavy data user, say less than 3GB monthly, major savings are available. I was with Verizon and all the costs just kept adding up. Monthly fee, line fee, 911, taxes, regulatory, on and on....

Is Xfinity right for everyone, no. Is it right for savers who don't use a phone constantly for streaming, for video, for online gaming, for regular Google mapping; yes it is.

My monthly bill is between $16 and $28, just depends on data usage. Locations I had a problem with Verizon service are the same locations I have problems with Xfinity, but those are very, very few.

My Verizon bill, no matter what was around 60 per line. Don't need to pay all that money to pad someone else's pockets.

Look at your monthly data avg., to see what makes cents and dollars.

So are these locked and how long do you have to maintain service to keep the discount/get unlocked?

Thanks, I've been waiting for this from Xfinity and was hoping they'd do something for existing customers.

Xfinity phones are locked until paid off, I believe. I unlocked my last xfinity iPhone after first billing cycle as I paid in full when opening the account, admittedly a couple of years ago now.

Move on if you don't like xfinity or that they ended the cheap service pricing Smilie

for someone that has been a verizon subscriber for the last 20 years, and happy with their service, what are the pros and cons switching to Xfinity mobile? I understand they use the same vzw towers? So thinking speeds and reception should be the same?

Curious to know if anyone from vzw switched to here, and their thoughts.

Thanks for doing the homework! So minimum $45 (3 months) unless you can magically get it unlocked on the 60th day. Doesn't seem too bad.

Nice to see Xfinity Mobile is doing this. I closed my account too early when porting in with Sprint and that made me miss out on a BYOB $100 gift card promo they were running. I have since switched to Visible but only because of price, not satisfaction.

Xfinity Mobile is a good Verizon MVNO. Consistently fast speeds in my area compared to T-Mobile, Sprint and AT&T. Didn't like the hotspot throttling with Xfinity Mobile - 600kbps is insane, but Visible you are limited to 1 device at a time. I switched to Visible because price was cheaper ($25 all in, if you join a party, as opposed to $48/month) and direct Verizon but there's no telling if they keep all the niceties.

Activation with Xfinity Mobile was a pain, but port out was easy. They give you the PIN and close out your account upon successful port out.

Hopefully Visible does something similar. It's good to hear both are offering 5G too.

This is interesting, but I don't see anything about the iPhone SE from the links provided. I'm already an existing customer on Xfinity Mobile and upgrading to an iPhone SE for $150 (after $250 prepaid card) would be a slick deal.

So existing customers with paid out phones can upgrade and get 250$ per each upgrade?

We switched around 1.5-2 years ago The big thing is there is no line access charge. That was $80 for a family of four. We use only a little data and had a 4gb Verizon plan (smallest they'd sell at the time).

Every month we've saved big. Our usual data is 2gb and is $100 cheaper but sometimes we use 3gb and sometimes only 1gb.

Thank you. Appreciate the info. I am not a big data user.... prob under 3 gigs a month i would think. dont play games, dont stream netflix. maybe some youtube videos and lots of email web surfing, etc. Checking in on some video camera feeds, as well.

Sounds like this can save me some good money per month, just looking at their plans. I think they throttle a bit when u use it as a hot spot, but that happens maybe once a year if need be.

thanks again for the info.
