1) Going directly with T-mobile, using the iPhone 8 as a trade in will net you $415 off instead of Apple $140 + $150 Rebate Card. $415 vs $290. No brainer. Granted the Tmo deal is bill credits, but if your staying with Tmobile, who cares.
2) If you don't want Bill credits, BE PATIENT. Costco will have an offer soon if they don't have one already that will usually mirror T-Mobiles direct offer except with a prepaid card instead. Will beat Apple's crappy offer.

But everyone's different. If you're paying for their regular plan with no free lines or discounts, then switching might make more sense.

Once an EIP is paid off the bill credits go to the account level. You can have several going at once on one line as long as you paid off the prior phones. I hate to say it but a ton of people left T-Force and a bunch more were laid off.. you're going to get all kinds of random answers. T-Force isn't the gold standard it once was unfortunately.
