1) Going directly with T-mobile, using the iPhone 8 as a trade in will net you $415 off instead of Apple $140 + $150 Rebate Card. $415 vs $290. No brainer. Granted the Tmo deal is bill credits, but if your staying with Tmobile, who cares.
2) If you don't want Bill credits, BE PATIENT. Costco will have an offer soon if they don't have one already that will usually mirror T-Mobiles direct offer except with a prepaid card instead. Will beat Apple's crappy offer.

I assumed you were going to redeem Chase points and purchase the iPhone from the Ultimate Rewards portal, which won't qualify for the $150 Apple Store rebate.
Isn't T-Mobile offering $415 for iPhone 8 plus $200 for loyalty/existing customers over 5 years?
Even without $200, isn't that a better deal than the extra $150 when they're only offering $120 for the iPhone 8?

The AT&T deal at $190 works out to more expensive monthly plans, so not attractive. I am seeing $60/ line for their Essential Unlimited with 2 lines per account + fees and taxes.
Also, if you really think it's irrelevant, I suggest you try using any promocode on a product that is not included in the promotion for that code and see how that goes for you.
