1) Going directly with T-mobile, using the iPhone 8 as a trade in will net you $415 off instead of Apple $140 + $150 Rebate Card. $415 vs $290. No brainer. Granted the Tmo deal is bill credits, but if your staying with Tmobile, who cares.
2) If you don't want Bill credits, BE PATIENT. Costco will have an offer soon if they don't have one already that will usually mirror T-Mobiles direct offer except with a prepaid card instead. Will beat Apple's crappy offer.

1) In store can I use my gift card balance on my account? It's not a physical card it's stored under my Apple ID. The are the target apple gift cards i've loaded.
2) Is the process best handled in store or doing it online and shipping the trade in?
3) Does this T-mobile "activation" just basically activating a new Apple sim with the phone number? This won't impact the plan or anything of that sort, right? I don't want risk to my T-mobile plan being impacted.
4) Are these phones that we activate then locked to T-mobile?
