1) Going directly with T-mobile, using the iPhone 8 as a trade in will net you $415 off instead of Apple $140 + $150 Rebate Card. $415 vs $290. No brainer. Granted the Tmo deal is bill credits, but if your staying with Tmobile, who cares.
2) If you don't want Bill credits, BE PATIENT. Costco will have an offer soon if they don't have one already that will usually mirror T-Mobiles direct offer except with a prepaid card instead. Will beat Apple's crappy offer.

Seems doing the upgrade through Apple yields $400 ($250 refunded and $150 in prepaid MC) in value back from trading in an iPhone X more instantly where as the doing the upgrade. Doing the upgrade through T-Mobile yields $415 back but over the course of 30 months in the form of bill credits.
I'm not sure if there's an option or detail I may be missing.

After getting phone, i got in a chat with Tmobile and they asked me ICCD (sim number), you can find this on back of iPhone box, or remove the sim tray to find or even you can find from settings...It took less than 5 mins for then to activate.
Once its activated, Tmobile agent will give you Promo Code (2200APPLERETAIL1) to submit the rebate form.
If you had the phone shipped, then you may need to contact the tmobile for sim activation I believe !!
someone mentioned in another thread that phobio inspected his SE and adjusted the value to $55 due to scratches. He sent it with the plastic cover that it comes with from factory, so it was not an error on his end.
