Spend $90 or more and get $45 back using your Amex Card.

https://slickdeals.net/f/14331521-amex-offers-spend-90-at-mint-mobile-get-45-back-ymmv

It's available with my Amex Blue card, but not for my Blue for Business Amex. Strange. I did not read the thread to see if it stacks with $5 off using the Mint app to order.

EDIT: It will NOT work with this deal purchasing at Best Buy. You must buy through Mint to get the Amex $45 deal. But may work with $5 app offer when ordering through your phone. Not sure though. I just finished 7 week trial and there is a $5 offer if I order through app now that trial is over.

Only problem with their sales is that you have to activate within 45 days and most people do not wait until they have no phone service to try and buy phone service.
It did not used to be this way, they used to give you up to a year to activate once you purchased a plan but they got greedy and shortened it to 45 days.
Now you have to be lucky, as in you have some odds against you getting that lucky expiration date exactly 45 days before their sale.
Well considering Mint uses T-mobile towers it's no surprise your phones work the same

Yesterday, we ported our TMO number to a new Mint account.
It was provisioned in 10 minutes.
Setting up the new APN and voicemail took longer.
LTE bars (in our suburban house) are the same after the switch.
The true test will be when we trek to downtown Chicago.

Some folks kvetch that their service from an MVNO isn't identical to service from the Mothership.
YMMV

Features is all that change (you loose the T-Mobile feature services, T-Mobile Tuesdays, Mobile hotspot data, Scam-blocking protection ...etc) ..actual phone service would be the same. Metro PCS is generally the Best MVNO for T-Mobile.

I have used 3 or 4 Mint sims and their fine for what they are.

More than fine.

They are an excellent deal after 2x $90 loads for 2x $45 to the Wallet with the current Amex Offer.

Note: We won't miss the TMO carp on Tuesdays.

Is there any fees from mint mobile or the previous carrier for porting the number?

Mint allows you to use your data either on the device or as a hotspot. Only exception is the unlimited plan, which has a hotspot data cap.

We bought the 3 month 3gig plan + sim directly from Mint.
Got $20 back via very popular portal. (SD management blocks names.)
Ported our TMO number and activated Mint sim on mint.com
Paid nothing extra to make it so.

Tip: Setup a new Mint APN before activating the service.
