Spoke with Sam's Club customer service about 2 weeks ago. Told your membership must be expired for 6 months before considered a "new" member sign up.

However, if someone else signs up as a new member then you can be their complimentary member no matter how long ago your membership expired.

I have both Costco and Sam's. I always get this Sam's deal. It always comes out free with deals like these. After going to Sam's and Costco's for 10+ years I have found some items at Sam's that I can't find at Costco. If I could only choose 1 membership it would probably be Costco but I really like Sam's too. I love the scan and go at Sam's. It really beats out having to wait in checkout to pay. Also the hotdogs are way better at Sam's lol.

Do you need a more compelling reason than free?

Costco warehouse stores carry mostly garbage brand. Every time I go there, I find nothing to ever buy. Toilet paper and most basic necessities I can get that thru Amazon. I find that I buy more items from Sams stores, probably because not all their brands are Kirkland? The kind of free membership from Sam makes it worth it. Only reason I am continuing to pay my Costco membership is the ease of returns, auto insurance, and the credit card that gives you cashback for food and gas. No I do not even bother with the inconvenience and crowded Costco gas stations anymore. The premium experience is just a mental one. Maybe it's the Costcos I been going to???
How's the Car insurance? Tried through Costco over 10 years ago when they were with Ameriprise, but didn't save anything. Was actually high.

Best deal I've found was on a truck battery (1000 cca). Saved over $80 from what i could find at the next cheapest place.

Where can I find the $45 off coupon on my account? Just signup yesterday. Checking my account now, I couldn't find the spot that I can see where the $45 coupon or $45 off mentioned in my account. Please help!!
If i understand the terms and conditions. it automatically deducts when you spend $45+ using scan and go app or when you order online and do a store pick up.

So the easiest way to do is. Add an item to the cart. Go to the last page of checkout page (you need not checkout fully) and see if it is taking out $45. That's the best and quickest way to check.

If it is NOT working then contact their CC.

Hope this helps!

They are actually the lowest price one I find. I had Geico which was lower than all major competitors until their recent price hikes. Switched to "Connect", which is the new name replacing "Ameriprise". Same owner, but they bought out another auto insurance and merged them. For Costco executive members, you get road side assistance. You don't select that option, it's given to you for free. Overall, I'm quite please with their service and pricing so far. Got 2 drivers and 2 cars insured with them and saved me at least $100 more per 6 months.

Go to the store. Do your shopping. Go to a human cashier and have them scan your items to check you out. I took advantage of a similar deal to this, same terms and conditions. I did not get the discount using self checkout, the next time I went and had a person check me out, I got it. I did not try curbside or scan and go, but the terms and conditions clearly say those will not work. Also, make sure you wait at least 72 hours from the time you signed up.

I did not know that. Got the membership anyway. Thanks
In most, maybe all, states, no membership is required for pharmacy or optical. Some states even restrict clubs from requiring a membership for alcohol and gas. One note is that while you can get the exam without a membership, you cannot buy glasses without it.

Can you add the complimentary cardholder after sign up? Or does it need to be completed when doing the sign up and can't be adjusted after?

Our membership expired a few days ago. Went to the Sam's closest to us today. I recognized the manager who was manning the membership booth. I asked him if I could get the deal on our current membership, which was through my wife. "No, but...if you were to open it in your name, we could...". I was prepared for that, but was hoping he would do a Jedi wave over the system and make it happen without having to jump through the hoops.

Anyway, paid for a new membership in my name, had him add my wife to the account, got a physical $45 card, did some shopping, and used it immediately. Thanks for the post!

Can I keep getting these kinds of deals every year or is it just a hook? I've seen like $25 GC + Rotisserie Chicken + other stuff as well.
