Box dimensions
Anybody know the box dimensions?
onn. 42" Class FHD (1080P) LED Roku Smart TV [walmart.com] will be $88 on Nov 4th too.
The model seems to almost identical to Hisense H6570G: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/hisense/h6570g
Now that the sale is over, Walmart has taken down the original link.
But they still have another page with what appears to be the same TV here.
Good if you want to examine the specs.
This appears to be a slight older Hisense H6570F model while the BlackFriday model is H6570G. The newer H6570G has better upscaling and Chroma 4:4:4 for computer usage.
onn. 65" Class 4K (2160p) UHD LED Roku Smart TV HDR (100012587) [walmart.com]
No box dimensions found, but product dimensions are listed as:
11.60 x 57.30 x 35.10 Inches
These cheap TVs tend to have fairly minimal packaging.

I own a 65in LG OLED, and a 55in Samsung Q80R.... Both last year's top TVs for price and performance... And I still use the Hisense 65in I got last year for $240 and I have no issue with the 50in ONN I bought for $100 as well.
Budget 4K are pretty damn good from Septre, ONN and the like... People praise TCL and forget people talked trash about them as well... Same thing for Vizio.
Even more interesting is a lot of budget sets use 2nd tier Samsung VA panels that actually look better than the entry level LGs with poor contrast.

I'm about to unbox it now and hook it up. It will replace a 55inch Seiki that I bought on Cyber Monday like 4 years ago for $580. Good luck everyone!

Roku interface is actually pretty slick; I'm amazed at the amount of free live streaming channels and free on demand content!

I am not 100% sure but there is an option to add additional remote. As the other slickdealer mentioned, you can use your smartphone or tablet as remote with Roku App
Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank xtp
Using the Roku-App, and setting the whitepoint and nearblack gamma.
I managed to pull 5000:1 Contrast ratio out of it @ 6504k color temp. If you use Normal color temp mode, and Offset the Blue channel using software, It should be possible to pull 5200-5300:1 contrast out of this panel.
Peak Brightness, 220nits calibrated @ 6500k, 227-230nits (pc offset possible). It can push 330, if you run the blue channel all the way up
Out of the box Color-Accuracy, ... hahaha, that's all I'm gonna say, there's no mode to set it in if you want accurate colors, the Warm is 5800k, The normal and cool are way way too blue. If you guys want accurate colors, you will need a colorimeter.
Gamut coverage is ~97% srgb, no problems here.
GAMMA (brightness tracking), is good, no problems with tone-ramp.
Good news for PC users, This panel does not use spatial dithering, it has 1:1 pixel mapping.
Bad news for PC users, This panel has undefeatable black bar detection. That's good and bad really, it depends on what you're doing. (you can't turn it off), it is NOT part of the dynamic contrast setting.
Panel quality is _not so great_. There are some very obvious Mura patterns visible. .
These are C+ grade panels. I noticed a couple malfunctioning subpixels as well..
For $230, It's tough to complain. It is what it is.
I will burn it in for an hour (exercise the pixels), and calibrate the full Gamma ramp and post settings for you guys. .It won't be accurate for your panel, but you can decide whether it helps.
A good direction on settings would be welcomed as well.
I'll do my best as far as that goes once I get the time. Going to pick it up and keep it for as long as it lasts. Hope Onn will give software updates in the future, cause I'm a little scared they will not.
It's kinda wierd having a remote again. Most apps use some an auth from tour device with a code approach. Disney+ makes you type in a username and password. LAME.
Google integration works well
Roku app in phone works. The listen private on your device is an easy way to listen to the TV using earbuds without annoying the family.
Can't chromecast from chrome anymore. There are probably alternative ways to cast my laptop to the TV but I don't know them yet.
ATT HBO MAX (we get for free) isn't available on Roku. Maybe one day?
ARC speaker bar integration was flawless
Back in the 1990s $250 was about what I'd spend on a TV. I know this isn't a highend quantum LED or OLED TV but man it's amazing what someone can get for $229 these days.

Never mind I figured it out.
