    You know, they say you don't do woodworking to save money, but this is one of those cases where you could absolutely make this yourself cheaper and better with some white poplar or pine and good plywood. It's a very simple design that can be made with a minimal set of tools.

    Lumber has been expensive lately though, is it still worth it to make your own shelf?

    I saw one on Costco few months back for $120 which usually comes on sale or I usually wait for the last piece, but they all gone in a week time.
