its too big for only 1080p, you will be able to see the pixels. not a bad deal its just not ideal on the specs.

Bullshit, you won't see pixels unless you like to pretend to be an elitist and sit stupid close to a 32 inch screen. Anyone will find problems to complain about if they want to find problems.

I have a curved Acer 32", also just 1080p, and i'm typing on it right now, sitting 2.5 feet away from it , have perfect 20/20 vision and the screen is perfectly fine for text, videos and images. I game on it too. Will you see finer, sharper display on a QHD screen at the same size and distance, yes, but nobody is going to see pixels at typical, practical use scenarios.

For a monitor most will agree 1080p on a 32" is doodoo but you do you bro.

its also not 1ms unless you use their setting which makes it SUPER dark, unusable in my opinion
Thanks for heads up. But how is this super setting used? Does it work with console and hdmi?

FYI, this was back in stock (5 units) at 6AM east coast , so may be worth the trouble to set a C4C if you really want one.

I've seen it in and out of stock but only for local pickup not delivery. Wondering if it isn't partially due to some returning them unopened.

For office work, you need an ips monitor which provides wider angle and better brightness
That makes zero sense. For office work, you are literally sitting/standing and looking at the monitor from the optimal viewpoint. That is a scenario where you DON'T need wider angles.

Unless your office is a warehouse and you are just one of the many employees glancing at the order screen for picks.

many times at office you work with other people or you present your screen to 1 or 2 person. IPS provides better angle and sharper/brighter text for that.

Ordered 2, 1 came cracked, so gonna return that one.

But WOW, I was expecting GARBAGE, this is Acer @ $155 afterall.

However, with just a tiny bit of calibration. This monitor is basically nailing Blue and Red, It doesn't quite have the gamut stretch to fill green, But it's close enough.

Link to measurements:

So, it has Black frame insertion (VRB), extreme mode puts it at 60nits, so not really playable.

On normal (VRB), it hits ~120nits (post calibration). That's very playable with the shades drawn.

Pixel response time, wellllll you get that standard VA-Black pixel smearing/ dragging, but that's honestly to be expected, it's really just the nature of VA. If you want non smearing you'd get IPS, but IPS makes movies look like garbage due to extremely low contrast ratio.

Contrast ratio post calibration is ~3500:1, Damn fine.. Movies look GREAT. If you use software compensation instead of the Internal CMS to fix mid-tones, you can get a little higher, 3800:1 is possible.

With VRB strobe turned off, This monitor can hit 300+nits, that's good enough for MADVR's tonemapping to display a solid HDR rendition.

It's been a long time, but I can say with confidence, Acer Doesn't Suck anymore. (2020)

I believe the 1 monitor of mine which cracked during shipping is due to the packaging, if you notice samsung curved monitors have way Thiccer boxes. I think acer should take note of that.

I know deal says dead - maybe potential for local stock or restock leading up to black friday deals. Regardless just wanted to add my thoughts.

I bought one and finally got it set up today. Using it mainly work/internet and basic gaming. Meaning I have a Nvidia 1660 Ti set up and not trying to have the best gaming rig. I have no problems with the resolution. I previously had a 27in 1080p from about 5 years ago. This is nice upgrade. Much bigger than I anticipated - like the curved screen. And text is perfectly fine. I'm in my 40's, wear glasses and looks great. Have played a few fortnite matches and it is so much better than what I was using. So maybe I'm not an expert and I'm not saying this is the best or anything but for the price, I'd recommend.

Also, I believe the VRB frequency is tuned for Pixel-Overdrive set to Extreme, if you guys enable VRB with any other Overdrive setting, it actually looks blurrier.

Anyone else have severe eye strain from using this monitor? Thinking it's the size @ 1080p that is creating some issues. Love this thing but hoping someone has some suggestions on settings on this thing.

Woah, this monitors has a 119.879hz mode for proper 5:1 pull down on movies.

That's extremely thoughtful of acer, most makers would skimp.

/Headscratch , actually we don't know. it will run the 60hz mode no problem.

But we don't know if xbox will support 120hz 1080p monitors. We know it will suport 120hz 4k monitors through hdmi 2.1 But this is not part of that spec.

In theory the xbox definitely CAN do it, but we won't know if it will do it.
