Not sure why everyone assumes this is no good. I mean it could be fine and work for a long time. I have a cheap insignia that's lasted longer then a Samsung. I wouldn't buy a smart TV though as they seem slower then their standalone counterparts. I like to hook up my own Roku or chrome cast to TVs.

If I plan on using this only for tivo/streaming and not as a pc monitor, how does it compare to the previous tcl 43" android at target deal?

Don't care as much about price which is the better tv and platform for tv viewing?
