I can't seem the find detailed specs on this model. Would anyone know if it has HDMI 2.0? Is it 4K 60Hz with chroma 4:4:4?
Yes it will have hdmi2.0, and it will support chroma 444, all roku platforms support it.

HOWEVER, it's probably using spatial dithering to smooth out left and right side contrast which won't make text blurry, but it will introduce a green pixel grid.

On the latest TCL you can disable this, but on the lower end models , maybe not. This one is also made by hisense which use the spatial dithering on all their sets.

Does anybody have experience with the 43" as a computer monitor?

Itll probably last a while. Honestly there is very little to fail in these modern tv's. You usually have 2 boards inside and the panel itself. The panel is going to be the same panel used in other brand tv's and the boards most likely as well.
Good to know, thanks.

Just an FYI, 43' =516"
70'=840"

Unfortunately I don't have room for that large of a tv in my house. But by the commotion this is getting,I guess most SDers must live in massive mansions
I put the 75 inches 6 series right in front of my bed. My room is 10x10. It's perfect.

I'm watching it at around 8 feet distance, which is the recommended distance for 75 inch tv. Anyone can use 75 inches.

The best one for monitor is the TCL 43 5 series. it has wide gamut, and it supports all the enthusiast input modes, like 23.976hz/24hz 10bit.

All roku platforms should BE ABLE TO DO THIS, but it's not universal.

Not sure why there are thumbs down for this. But I am tempted to buy the 43" TV as a spare for $88.
Why not go for the 50 for $40 more?

not always true, i just sold a broken 70 inch hisense that broke in 6 months (I did get a full refund from Hisense) for $40.
Sorry bit OT: Was that the $500 Roku model? I have that one too. What broke?

What is the over/under on how long this deal lasts? 45 seconds max is my guess. Hopefully I am wrong. I need a cheap bedroom TV. The $1000 Westinghouse 38 inch TV I got a deal on 15+ years ago died.
Lol@$1000 tv. Wow, the price has gone down on tvs. Somehow the price of phones keep going up

You don't have to really, In most cases, I think the spatial dithering looks better overall than without it.

It smooths out contrast on VA tvs, because they drift in on the far edges. At normal viewing distance, you can't see the grid.

I don't like the fact that you can't turn it off on some sets. but it is what it is.

I'm like 100% certain this will be a trashy tv, w/ terrible uniformity. but u know, it's like the ugly chix with big o' t, well you know..

LOLOL... I bet that's what everyone's thinking. That said.. I've personally vowed never to buy anything without wide gamut. It's just so much better.
Nah, it's more like a girl with a nice body and ok face, but we can live with it

Yes, I do. It's great for work when I have to open several windows and see them all simultaneously. But it's not for everyone, consider whether having multiple monitors might be a better solution for you. Also, if you need something for photo editing, I wouldn't expect the color accuracy you'd get with a decent computer monitor, and viewing angle can affect the brightness of one portion of the screen vs. another as you turn your head, since you're sitting closer to this TV than it was designed for..
Thanks, I am actually considering this as my 2nd 43" monitor. Now I just have my laptop screen as 2nd screen, which is not ideal.
In my work I usually need a fullscreen window for the professional software while everything else is on the 2nd screen. Virtual desktop works somewhat for now, but more screen real estate is just better.

Just worried about how text looks. It's nothing like the compressed chroma thing then, is it?
