"information" deleted.
you may be able to travel without a 14 day quarantine. read below, and be aware that these regulations are being constantly updated, and could become more strict at any time.

^the above information is woefully inadequate and misleading. here's copypasta directly from the hawaii government:

Quote :
The program requires passengers five and older to take a Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT) from a Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) certified laboratory within 72 hours from the final leg of departure and produce a negative result. Only test results from trusted testing partners approved by the Hawaii Department of Health are being accepted.

In addition to the pre-travel test, a county may require travelers five and older to obtain a subsequent test after arrival. This post-arrival test will be administered by the county. Be sure to check with the individual county websites for the latest information.

Not if you take a covid test I believe 3 days beforehand.

But as somebody who lives in Hawaii, I must say , don't come. Lots of things are still closed over here and we still have restaurants who are either closed or operating at 50% capacity with limited menus. Don't be the first ones to come here, wait until these stupid restrictions are gone.
Just to be clear, the American way is that politically appointed officials are above the law, right?
this entire year is a pain in the ass

Are these airlines (Hawaii/AA/United) still imposing the empty middle seat policy? If so that'd make me feel much better.

So next week it'll be closed when cases spike. I had to cancel a trip to kauai because of the 14 day quar. Sucked trying to get the AIRBNB guy to refund, who wouldn't, so we had to move it to Sept next year. Oh well.

However I just saw a tiktok video where the airport is a mess with a HUGE line to get out but once out the island appears pretty empty. These guys I saw were on Maui and I'd kill to be there right now.

AA and United haven't left middle seat open for a while now. Hawaiian airlines hasn't had enough business for it to matter at least until now.

How easy is it to get a coronavirus test nowadays if you're asymptomatic and not in an at-risk group? And how much do the tests cost if not covered by insurance?

Needing a negative test within three days of leaving to avoid quarantine is understandable, but a pain in the ass regardless.
