Shure SE215 Wired Sound Isolating Earbuds, Gen 2, Clear or Black $55.
This is my first real post. Yes, these are wired and yes I'm sure there are many cheaper and smaller options available in this category. If you know of anything functionally wrong with this specific model or know anything about the gen4's launching, please share, but please don't downvote because you like wireless or something.
I've been watching the Gen2 SE215's for a few weeks on Amazon and they've been $79. CCC said lowest wad $59, but this morning I saw 2 if the colors dropped to $55
Clear:

Black:

I splurged on a pair if e5c's years ago and the se846's look so awesome, but holy sh!t what a difference in price. I am sure these will be more than adequate for my conference calls and YouTube

These you truly cant hear the noises on a plane. Have had flight attendants in my face yelling to me and I cant hear them... I joke about people who carry their big BOSE headsets.. 10X the size for less quality sound never mind the 3X cost. I wear Shure for Sound and not BOSE for SHOW off.
Suggestion.. buy the wireless for $79 and then add the cable after as its cheaper that way. I believe you can find the cable for like $20 to $30 So for $99 to $110 you can get both wired and wireless.
Wireless: https://www.amazon.com/Shure-SE21...JQ3W7?th
And then find the wired cable aftermarket. CAREFUL and make sure you buy the wired cable with the microphone as it comes in handy for zoom and webex or other online computer things.. and YES the wireless syncs fine with my MAC and my ThinkPad but you really need the wired cable for computer due to the over sensitivity of the mic on the BT wireless.
Only bringing this up because OP mentioned them, I also own the 846, and they are a different beast. Much better sounding audio across all spectrums.
I recall the first CC I was on and the President of my company said Hi, when I responded he was amazed at the sound quality and how good I sounded on his end.
(Backstory I work for a Global Audio Visual company and we travel the globe installing high end video conferencing rooms.)
The only issue I have had was the earbud popped off once while I had it tucked in my shirt when I was moving boxes. Luckily it fell down into my tucked in undershirt.
Cheers

Also I think that the communication cord that comes with these 215's normally sells for $29 on its own, so if anyone happens to need just the cord, this might be something to consider since you're getting the buds and cords for $55. Hope that isn't indicative that a change is on the horizon.

FWIW, if you're working your way up, I'd look into campfire audio. I was able to get my 846 open box for $700, but I also own original andromedas that I got as b stock for $810. The 846 have a much nicer fit for my ear, but the clarity of the andromedas is far superior. I feel like the 846 has more bass impact, but it's not as controlled as the andromedas.
My whole point in bringing this up is if I had to do it all over again and could only chose one, the 846 would not be the route I went. Just my 2 cents
