If you haven't heard, for the sake of the sports game industry it's probably a good idea to not buy this year's 2K basketball game. Literal casinos in the game, micro transaction ridden with little changes from the last decade of games, and your ultimate team doesn't transfer to next gen (meaning of you spend any money on a team now its a waste). A game I CAN vouch for though is that Star Wars squadrons. Pure fun, no MTX, and no plans for post-launch content. You know what you get and pay for up front

Edit - would also like to comment that a lot of these are EA games and either already are or will be coming to Xbox's Game Pass Ultimate in a couple of weeks. I'd recommend waiting and trying out the base games through there, because the DLC will inevitably go on sale again. Still a +1 on the post overall for aggregating the discounts

This is the first I have commented about 2K, and I haven't bought the game since 2K18. I didn't say the game was irrelevant, I'm saying that it's low effort and greedy and people shouldn't buy it this year. I'll keep commenting to spread awareness, not because I care about relevancy.

Not at this price. Wait til after the season. The single player elements don't change. Ppl only pay the higher prices (for sports and shooters) to stay relevant and compete when the multiplayer pool is still healthy.

Wow. You didn't get that I put "you" in parenthesis twice. So maybe 4 times. "You." Every year since the inception of VC, which dates back a while, there is always that guy who blows the whistle on VC. I'm not talking about you, I'm talking about "you", that person every year that says this is the year 2k finally went tpo far. You're right, but you're just 4 years too late, maybe longer. 2k dominates every year and I can't see that changing. So, now you're in line with those who came before you.

very addictive game, online gaming is a little bit toxic....I try to complete all the offline stuff 1st before going online....they allow ppl to use microphones (i sometimes mute them...as when I'm beating someone...they complain about everything....I've been beaten and the ppl gloat...and then there are others who want to just chat it up)

In game purchases are kind of crazy...because you get your ass handed to you by someone who has paid to get every card in the game and it inclines you to spend....I spent 1k in Season 1 of My Team....ya I know...however...It was a lot of fun...plus I got pink diamond Dr J.....and he is insane...does some monster dunking, can hit the 3, and he averages btw 20-30 points a game....I pair him with Pink Diamond Steph Curry and they are a lethal combo. They seem to be following the same model in Season 2....so I'm not going to layout that much cash this season.(I've spent zero thus far in Season 2 and I'm pretty competitive still)..I might throw some cash at the decks that they offer a player for...but it depends who the player is.

I think they have put all their resources into generating revenue in myteam....I don't believe the other modes have changed at all from 2k20.

Your myteam cards rollover to next gen if you purchase Mamba Edition. The other stuff in Mamba edition are not worth it.

It's no suprise, almost every year it seems like 2k is trying to push the envelope to see what they can get away with in terms of monetizing it's customer base.

They push gambling to under aged kids in the form of ante up and casino's in their game in order to get people to spend real money to bet on games. To making the myplayer experience such a painful grind now so that they can try to manipulate people into spending more money to upgrade their players in order to simply enjoy the mode. Then nickle and dime people to death over clothes, accessories, animations, attribute boosts, etc.

The game used to be one of my favorites. I used to play it all year long almost exclusively. However the last 4 years or so it's gone downhill big time. 2k16 was probably one of their last truely great and balanced games that they put out. That was before all the greed from microtransactions, arcade badges, and arcade 100% green shooting crept into the game. The game used to be one of the best basketball simulations out there. Now it's turned into more of a NBA JAMS style basketball game riddled with gambling, microtransactions, and advertisements.

Take Two CEO has been very focused for quite a few years now on coming up with ways to extract more money out of people. It's not enough that people pay $60 and what will soon be $70 on next gen for their base game when it's released and up to $100 for these so called deluxe editions.

The "ad" was there for like a day and in place of 2ktv (which is unskippable as well) this ad pops up until mycareer fully loads (the same if 2ktv is running)
