Seems like a strange bundle. Gimbals are mostly for video, right? Why would anyone choose a A7R series (rather than A7 or A7S) for video?

I'm really happy with my Sigma trip, Sony 6400, 6000 cams and I've been wanting to make the jump to full frame but I'll have to wait for the savings to build up a little more. 😢

No living being may wield the gimbal with Sony a7r-iv and zoom lens mounted unless they are worthy.

Depends on your needs. Autofocus of the iii is worlds better/more advanced. it also has a focus joystick, better processor and updated color science (more of a concern for people shooting JPEGs...which I'd argue people buying these machines should not be doing). The battery life of the ii is truly terrible and you may need to buy a bunch of them if you actually take lots of pictures in a single day.

If are are a manual focus person, I'd say no.

All this said, if you are about to put down more than a couple grand on a purchase better to do more indepth research on the feature set and needs for the way you want to work. (you are looking about buying hundreds - if not thousands worth of lens) to get any value out of that high grade of a sensor.

A lower grade lens is going to cap out at a far lower megapixel range, only better quality glass will actually reveal an actual difference, which will cost a pretty penny on top of the body purchase.

Depends on your usage. For me, the Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 would be a must.

You don't want to put a cheap kit lens on these.

Good deal for the ones who cannot get the EDU discount, as much as I want to save and use Greentoe I cannot recommend them due to lack of customer service and poor communication.

A7 iii is the lowest MSRP I've seen. I think its the best overall Mirrorless camera money can buy. period.

A7R ii - Best Bang for your buck Full Frame 42MP BSI with IBIS camera, best for landscape/architecture/portraits, not for sports/wildlife. its $400 cheaper than the A7 iii, no joystick, worse battery, lesser focus points, slower AF, only 1 card slot, but if 42MP is your choice vs the 24MP then go for this.

A7R iii - best value for pros, is $1000 worth to upgrade from A7r ii although the same sensor? for pros yes. Bigger battery, better evf, better LCD, with joystick, 2 sd card slot, higher fps, no lockup during write. 120fps HD video.
Is this better than the A7 iii with $600 difference? lets see, A7r iii has better EVF, LCD, 42MP but 24MP is better than low light.

A7R iv - best highest MP you can buy, compared to the A7R iii, this has better EVF, more focus points, downside is a little worse on low light and higher image files.

What focal length are you looking at? what type of photography do you want this camera/lens? There are tons of lenses with different price brackets.
If budget is an issue:
widest, go with manual, 12mm to 15mm you can find lenses ~$250
ultrawide with AF, samyang 18mm f2.8 for $250
Tamron and Samyang have 20mm, 24mm, 28mm f2.8 AF primes for $300
Samyang has faster primes 35mm, 45mm 75mm f1.8 for $399
Sony E has a 50mm f1.8 for $198
Viltrox has 85mm f1.8 for $399
Samyang has 85mm f1.4 for $500
best ultrawide zoom Tamron 17-28mm f2.8 for $750
best overall zoon Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 for $750
best long range Tamron 29-200 f2.8-5.6 $729

you can also adopt lenses from Nikon and Canon DSLRs.
