I have this stand and experience the same issue as you (have a 12" slider - the 65lb Bosch Glide saw). What I found is that the saw itself had slide down towards the right side of the bracket (between the two poles, requiring A LOT more effort to open it). Once I repositioned it in the center between the brackets and tightened it back up, it was much easier to open.

Fantastic deal and stand. I was waiting on a sale but got impatient and ordered a factory blemished from DTO for $189 a couple weeks ago when they had $50 off $200+.

The stand is so awesome that I'm not even that upset I could have gotten it for $99 at HD. I felt it was still a steal at $189 - $50 (plus bought something small I needed anyway to get the $50 off).

It's a no brainer at this price.

Bought this years ago on Black Friday, and to this day it remains one of my top five best BF purchases -- and I couldn't even tell you what the other four are. Even though I don't need another, I get a certain joy seeing this deal come up every year around this time. Highly recommend this stand!

As many others have stated, it's a fantastic stand. Very easy to use and stable. Blows the 4-legged stands away when it comes to folding and unfolding, and the big wheels make transportation easy. Designed to store standing up too, which I found helpful. My old stand had to be leaned in a corner if I wanted it to store upright.

I've owned this stand for five plus years. It's a tank. The lowering mechanism sometimes catches and you have to kind of force it down to collapse it for storage but still works great. The rollers and built-in integrated stops are nice as well

I borrowed a friends Dewalt 749 12" sliding miter saw that he had mounted on this stand. It was a fantastic combo and I've been patiently waiting for this $99 deal since spring. Glad the waiting paid off!

The saw cuts things. The stand holds the saw and the board being cut. Any thoughts on how well this holds really long (12 to 16 ft) things to be cut?
