Husky 30 Piece Ratcheting Wrench Combo Set SAE\Metric + Stubby $59.88 Free Shipping Home Depot

Home Depot has the Husky 30 piece ratcheting wrench combo that includes a 10 piece stubby set on a special buy for $59.88 with free ship to store or ship to home shipping. I just bought the 20 piece set last week that was the 20 base wrenches with no stubby wrenches for $80. I would have went with this instead for less money and more wrenches. I think this would be a better deal than the Gearwrench set that is 20 pieces and hits the $40 range on Amazon.

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky.../305011099

Set includes (20) standard 12-point ratcheting wrenches covering sizes: (10) SAE - 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, 7/16, 1/2, 9/16, 5/8, 11/16, 3/4, 13/16 in. and (10) Metric - 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18 mm

Set also includes (10) stubby 12-point ratcheting wrenches covering sizes: (5) SAE - 3/8, 7/16, 1/2, 9/16, 3/4 in. and (5) Metric – 10, 11, 13, 14, 15 mm

Looks like this was a FP deal last year around BF for the same price:

Why does it skip 12mm in the stubby wrenches... that's one of the most common bolts I run across!

So true, but comes with 11 mm and 7/16 in both sets...

Yeah, the 11 is nice I have a shortage of those. Probably will pick this up anyway.

Personally I'd get the 30 piece set. Price per tool is the same but the 10 piece set is mostly smaller wrenches and I don't recall seeing the larger wrenches is a separate set so buying them individually would be expensive. The stubby sets are usually more expensive on their own and harder to find a deal on. But in the end look at the included sizes and figure out which one fits your needs best.

A youtuber mechanic with "50 years of experience!" commented he doesn't like the straight wrenches he prefers ones with and angle or offset -thoughts?

He's right, straight wrenches are sometimes unable to get to bolts that wrenches with an offset can, but ratcheting wrenches with an offset are significantly more expensive. These are fine for basic use or a starter set.

This is a GREAT deal. But... I've become picky enough to require them to be reversible. The non-reversible ones can lead to situations you can't get out of. Ex: back a bolt up against something and the wrench can't fit through the gap. Can't tighten, can't back it out. Now what?

If you're in confined spaces in an engine compartment you may want to get some reversible ones too, or just be super aware before you make a bonehead move like I have in the past.

I'm not a mechanic, but I've seen saying this in many wrench deal postings. It can save a knuckle or two over time as well. Well worth paying more for IMO.

Doesn't include 16 or 19 mm and as a mechanic you use them all the time especially the 19
