that's crazy crazy low unfortunately. Even the cheap ones from like Target, WM in store etc measure weight per shelf in the hundreds of lbs. A decent unit from Costco or Sam's Club are 800+ lbs per shelf. The latter obviously is overkill for you, but still worth noting.

Also assuming you need more storage than one of these would provide, you aren't actually saving much with this deal vs much higher quality products. This unit is 3.75 inches of shelving per dollar vs Target's 4*6*1.5 @ $80 which is 3 inches per $ NOT on sale. And that has 18 inches of depth vs 14 and is 6 ft tall instead of 5. And the shelves are rated for 350 lbs.

Basically I wouldn't consider this much of a deal even if these were strong enough to be safe for most users, and it doesn't sound like they are.
