Boxes still clock in on top and bottom of the crate. Only the half-width ones don't click into the top of it.
The Packouts are also larger, which is good and bad. You can fit more stuff, but they can get awfully heavy for loading in the truck or carrying around.
But for just $100, that Ridgid stack is a great deal and plenty good for all but the roughest of users. If you want the best, go Packout.

Total agree with jotann here. It might have a lower price than some of the closed boxes, but it is by far the most used packout piece I use. Buy it and you will agree too. Throw stuff in and go.
